I got that pretty Chenille bedspread for $5 bucks. It's old and in perfect condition. A little pricey at 5 dollahs, but, you don't see Chenille much anymore and I like it. Got some Ball jars. Got that little ceramic light for a quarter. I has baby jesus on it. I'll shove it in the Hostas, jesus side down, or throw it away. I really just wanted the little light cord. I needed one for my salt lamp.
Two full bottles, in the boxes, of Parisian scent. Amariage, Givinchy, that one is Toilette so it's not as strong. Nice sweet smell, I may use it once in a blue moon. The other is a real prize. LeCouvette des Mihimes Haute Proveunce, Pareeeeeee. Pure and unadulterated, it smells like Lemons and Lemon Verbena. Gawd, this stuff is intoxicating. I plan to wear it every day until every drop is gone and then cry over the empty bottle. 50 cents each.

ooooo that lecouvette stuff sounds like it smells DIVINE!!!!
i love my salt lamp!!!!
I got some nice shorts and tanks too. Jersey, none of that ribbed shit. I've lost so much weight nothing from last summer fit me anymore. I don't feel like driving 120 miles to buy shorts.
Holy balls - a chenille spread for a mere 5 bucks? Awesomeness!!!! I once found a chenille spread in Louisiana that had a cowboy on a bucking bronco motif. Used it until it finally fell apart.
And french perfume (parfum!) LOVE lemon verbena.
I'm gonna get a U Haul and come out to your neck of the woods. What fine "thrift scores" you had today.
***Ladies, what is a salt lamp?***
A big old hunk of hollowed out salt from a salt mine with a light in it. Really pretty. Supposed to be magical too.
I can totally picture that cowboy spread. I'll look for another one for you, Mary. I have a knack for finding weird things.
O! Wouldn't that be something!? I would totally rock that spread on the bed and tell everybody the story about YOU! It's always fun to turn my friends onto your blog! Thrifting is soooo much fun, and cathartic, too!
A big old salt hunk - imagine THAT! I learn something new everyday; thanks for the description. What kind of magical properties? Just overall or is there something specific it was created for?
Pat would know more than me about these things, but salt does have purification qualities....
Pat, I've got one of my mom's chenille spread. I had chenilles win I was young. I used to rub my toes on the chenille to go to sleep (like some kids would suck their thumbs). It was very soothing to me. I have it on my bed now and I went straight back to being 5 yrs. old--rubbing my toes on the chenille. It's still soothing.
I've got 2 tickets to the Antique Roadshow. The only problem is, you have to bring an antique and I don't have any. I'll have to borrow one from my husband's uncle. He has a lot of things that came from Italy with his grandmother. He has a 3-D veiwer from 1901---not from Italy. And about 50 pics to go with it. I think I will bring that. There's a lot of statues and pottery on the piano and shelves. I make take them down and look at them.
Sorry! "win" should be "when".
Don't want a troll to condemn my spelling. But I don't think I will comment on my misspellings any more. Those who know me will figure them out. Elementary teachers can be some of the worst spellers in the world. We have seen words spelt so many different ways, sometimes you can't remember the correct spelling of even the simplist words.
Jane ... is your 3D viewer from the Keystone View Company?? I grew up looking thru these in our public library. It is unique, but not really worth much. The slides are worth about $1/ per slide. But, if you need an antique to take with you, take it!

Love chenille. Awesome find!
CJ...I'm not sure what it is. It's just easier to bring that than to have to search through all that old stuff. Plus, it has to be easy to carry. Anything big has to be O.K.'d ahead of time and brought to certain loading areas. I'm just going because my sister loves this stuff and I knew she would have fun. She'll be talking to everyone about their antiques. I'm bring a chair and a book. And I'm keeping the viewer in the box so I don't have to tell people about it. I'M A SOCIAL PERSON!!! NOT!!
Jane, did you look at the link I posted?
Try this on w/ a picture. Is this like the one you have? I would love to go to Antiques Road Show & look at all the neat stuff.

I got a salt lamp at a yard sale a few weeks back for $3.00! I was doing a happy dance that day! I still need to find a place to put it though...any suggestions on the best place for it?
