Happy Valentine's Day everybody!

Be sure and feed your monkey. Uhh, wait, what's the other banana for, what's going on there, why does the monkey look scared?? HERE is a bunch of other old creepy Valentines, in case you find them as funny as I do.

Or you could just hit images in Yahoo. Some of them are downright scary. Jeepers Creepers.

I'm giving that one to Alissa. We've been having THE chats now that she's using the net.

I love Valentine's Day, because it has nothing to do with religion (that I know of) and I love getting the kid's special Valentines. I don't just go out and buy candy, oh, I buy some, but, for me, it's more about finding them special things that don't necessarily have to be new, like they do on Christmas. I think I spent a total of $10 bucks. Gabe is getting an antique truck-metal box filled with Hershey's Kisses (the wheels actually turn) and warm Pixar jammies and some other treasures. Lissa is getting a pink bedspread I found in a used store and a bunch of dollar store jewelry. Both of them are getting special stuffed animals I washed and redecorated. And other treasures. They love it, they know Grandma's a little crazy. Good crazy though.

Yesterday the weather was sooooo great. It was over 50 degrees here!!! The snow and ice melted and everyone was in a good mood. This morning I woke up and my car (and everything else) is white again. It almost pisses me off. I mean, enough already. But, at least it's Valentine's Day and I like it. I love seeing what Lis brings home from school from her friends. Some of it is really funny. I can't wait to see what they made for me. So, Happy V Day, have a good one and love someone. Or if you can't, just try not to punch anyone.

Happy Valentine's Day, Pat!
I'm glad you had at least a taste of good weather. Such a bummer when it's only one day, though.
We have just come out of a winter storm. Starting last Friday, it snowed a fair amount for here, and then we had freezing rain on top of it. The temperature came up out of the 20's on Sunday night, though, so it started melting. I think that yesterday was when the last of the snow left us. We got about 8 inches in most of the yard, and up to a foot in places. Nothing, by your standards, I know, but it was enough to close down a lot of things here. We are preppers (it's how I was raised), so we had plenty of food and everything else we needed on hand. It was beautiful.

A wish for a lovely Valentines Day to all! I know a big part of the country has had enough ice, rain, snow - here in Calif - we are in some serious deep trouble. Maybe it will rain straight through March and it wont be so bad, but I don't think so.

Roxie and I spent an hour last night addressing and attaching candy - Hershey bars at her request - to her Valentines cards. Bug ones with gel clings for the boys and "fashion" etching ones for the girls. Rub a little stick over the black paper for the picture to appear.
My favorite she brought home was a homemade card her friend Carson gave her that said "You Make Me Glow!" and had one of those nighttime fluorescent bracelets attached that you bend to fit on your wrist and it glows.

We monitor our girls usage on the net too. Roxie is strictly forbidden from several games and is to never converse with anyone.
She just turned 8 and cutting her some slack is several years away. I hope Lis understands that it's not that you don't trust her - it's the sick creepos who have had alot of practice at gaining kids trust - that we want to vaporize.

My Valentine's story goes like this.
Washed my white sheets and put them back on the bed (it's easier than folding them). Cats went out in the rain and mud. (You know where tis is going.) The cats (3) curled up in the warm sheets before I could put the comforter on. I had newly decorated cat paw sheets that had to be done all over. Good thing I like my cats.

Connie, the only place she's able to use the net freely is here. I have wifi. I taught her how to use her phone net to get to places like you tube and gaming sites. I let her use it alone, but, I'm always checking. She's not allowed to go to any chats. And she doesn't have any instant message sites. But, I told her she could have MSN if I got to see every name she put on. Right now she's into Emily The Strange on you tube. I check her history too. No problem so far.
