Have you heard of 'Yarn Bombing'?

A yarn bombed tree.

A stealthy group project.

Yarn bombed bikes seem to be common.

A parking meter monster. (Chuckle.)

Oh, that's very pretty!

Now, you're just becoming insane.

Part of me says, yes! I want to yarn bomb too! No one has done it around here yet. The craze has caught on though, in many places. There are 'how to' sites all over. But, part of me says, no way am I wasting expensive yarn that will just rot away. My practical side is pretty strong on this one. I do find myself looking around town for places I could 'bomb' though. Maybe soon I'll have enough scraps to just do a tree in my yard for fun. I doubt the tree would like it though. Knitter's and Crocher's are yarn bombing just about everything. Go look it up. Most of it is weird, though that fence and the trees are cool.

So far, I've made Mary Jane children's shoes, those are really cute, house slippers, various doll clothes, headbands to practice stitches, baby vests and pants, Mary Mary's hat is finished and some other stuff. I'm getting better at it and I'm still not bored with it. But, yarn is hard to come by here.  I keep finding skeins here and there and if I get enough practice, maybe I can take my projects out of the practical craft realm. There's a lot to learn though.

There's some of my stuff. As you can see, I lack variety in colors and textures, but, true crafts or folk art is based on 'making do' with what you have. I kind of like that aspect of it. Who am I kidding? I LOVE making stuff out of found objects. I just wish I'd find better materials and move along with more progress in actual skill. (I'm aware I'm no yarn prodigy.) There is a mind numbing, brain dumping that comes along with this kind of repetitive work. It's almost meditative.

I thought I'd stop by to see if you had posted about L'wren Scott today. Mick just posted a beautiful photo from Perth, AU this morning and now this awful news! WHY?????? I know you love you some Mick. He has already deleted this mornings pic. She was already gone when he posted it. He didn't know. It was literally up for all of an hour. Devastating. She had it all. You just never know. Tall, thin, world famous fashion designer, famous friends and she had Mick. I just can't understand the "why". It's a sad day. But WTH? WHY? Any ideas?

I almost did post on that, but, then I thought no one would really know who she was anyway. I guess I was wrong. I have no idea why, she seemed to have it all, didn't she?

OH! Wrong. I follow them both on Instagram. Mick is on tour and posts very nice photos. He's old now, but still was excited about the shows in Perth. I know about her. She designs for Mrs. O, Nicole Kidman and celebs out the wazoo. And she LOVED scarves. Of course she would use a beautiful scarf to end it all. The irony was not lost on me. If she was terminally ill, I get it. But if Mick was out of touch or they were on a break of sorts, she seems to have plenty of things to stay busy with. She didnt need any man. Not even Mick. But dayum, they traveled all over together and seemed to love being together. I love his smile. I hope he's back posting again soon. I will miss him and his voice and little videos he makes. This is the 1st woman he has been with to end her own life, right? I don't get it. It sickens me. 49 damn years old! WTF?

Did she hang herself with a scarf???

Yes. Ok. She's 6' 3". And hung herself from a doorknob with a scarf. The physics of that make no sense. Unless, as my kid pointed out. Drugs. If she passed out like that, then yea, it could have killed her. But she was a tall lady. I find it weird that she would do that. And yes, I'm sure it was a fabulous designer scarf like she loved to wear. She really towered over Mick. Poor Mick. I hope she wasn't upset about a cheating scandal or anything. It wouldn't be the 1st time he cheated! But hopefully, he's past that now. & he's still hot. Who knows? Girls would still bed him. He's MICK! Of course. I hope that's not what was going on. We will find out. She seemed a bit different for him. But he liked them tall. Her fashions were gorgeous.

I'd never heard of yarn-bombing until I saw it here. I kind-of like it, especially the parking meter. I might have to try and improvise something along those lines. Not specifically the parking meter, but maybe the fence, or part of a tree. I really enjoy the bikes, too, but that looks really involved.
You find the most interesting things, Pat.

Yarn bombing happens all over the neighborhood and I dig it. And your stuff is pretty awesome, so dig that, too. "Craftastic!"

Thank, Christina, if you do it, send pics!

Mx2..dat's you hat. I told you it was crazy stoopid.

Update: sorry, this is OT. L'wren was depressed over finances. Deeply in debt and unable to even do her fashion week show last month due to stress and debt. And word is out that Mick was cheating big time while on tour. Of course. But nobody else ever killed herself over Micks cheating. So, My bet is on her millions of dollars of debt and no perceived way out. Hell, he could have bailed her out. She must have been a proud person and depressed. Sadness. I totally get her now. Fuck. I hate it. So much. GFD. 😞

THAT'S MY HAT? I LOVE IT!!!! Oh, my stars! Awesome! I just hope you don't think my art piece is dumb. : )

I love the fence. I wonder if there is something you could use instead of yarn that would last? It's much too pretty to disintegrate like yarn.

Love the fox hat. I like anything fox. You are quit talented. I might be able to crochet that, but I would have to fllow directions and have mor patience than I have. Some things I can stay with, some things not.
