Lightening struck a town in England last night and that top photo interested me enough to crop it and take a closer look. Holy moly. That is one huge lightening bolt. I'd be scared to hear what that storm sounded like. We've been getting some real odd intense thunder storms here to. It seems like when they happen, they're right on top of us. More weird photos of the UK storm
HERE, including a weird red sky. Spooky.

Looked at all the pics and it's hard to believe that 3rd bolt only hit 1 house. It was so broad at the base.
It looks like it would have take out our whole town.
It's scary but looks so beautiful in,the photo. Nothing like that happens out here. But we did have a good sized shaking earthquake last night, 5.1 and aftershocks still going on.
connie45, are you in the west? Was it Californa?
Yes Jane I live in Los Angeles - but at the very end in the port/harbor area. The quakes epicenter was much more farther inland - at least 35 miles from me and in the Orange County area. Hubs was at work and my girls and I were home laying around. I quickly gathered them up and we all sat huddled together watching the news. I wonder if Mary Mary felt it stronger where she is. Here though was a nice hard shake and then some rolling waves.
I can not imagine how that must feel. Was there any damage?
There was damage in I think the Brea and La Habra area. Big cracks in apartment buildings and some houses.
A lot of merchandise in stores shaken off shelves, a rockslide in one canyon area. No real injuries that I have heard of. The earthquake experts are saying that the "big one" is coming.
