Today is International Woman's Day

I don't really know what that means, every day is woman's day, if you ask me. But, photographer's around the world celebrated by creating mother and daughter portraits. HERE. They are very nice photos and I found the different homes very interesting. No matter how humble, they are all neat and clean too. I think the state of their homes and the decorating told me more about these people than the actual portraits did. All of them feature a mother and one daughter. Just one. I don't know why, but, that bothered me a little. Still, it's worth a look. All of these women clearly try to make their world as pretty as they can, no matter how little they have. I find that uplifting somehow. And typical of females. It seems nesting IS in our DNA. Most of us, anyway. That fact has never escaped me and it means more than aesthetics. That need to make a safe home somehow contributes to our survival.

I finally got one when I was nearly 30. I was never so thrilled as when they said, 'it's a girl!'
