Grumpy Cat turns two

Grumpy Cat had a birthday and turned two. She had her own photo shoot at Vogue. (Well, she's way better than KimYe.) I couldn't care less about some Cat meme. In fact, I am so old and not with it, I still call memes, me-me's. Fuck that nonsense. Everyone has seen Grumpy, that thing is everywhere. We have 30 Cats here and they're all just fucking Cats to me. ( I am the non Cat lover, but, y'all know that's sort of a front, since I'm the one who runs their carpool.) But, I'm also a speed reader, so, I figured I could waste one minute of my life reading about stupid Grumpy Cat.

Damn it. She's cute. Really cute. She looks like that because she has Feline Dwarfism and her owners imply that it was unintentional. She's small, plump, short legged and really, really mellow. She's is SO good in photo shoots, that I went and looked up her other videos. She really is chill, they aren't lying. She's such a well mannered, happy Cat, no wonder she's famous. Her real name is Tarder Sauce, which I find really amusing for some reason. Her favorite foods include Tuna and everyone knows you need some tarder sauce wiff tuna. Gawd, she's too cool for Cat school.

Tarder Sauce (AKA Grumpy) recently met Lil' Bub, another Internet meme, who I've never heard of. Lil Bub is famous because of a birth defect too. Lil' Bub also has Feline Dwarfism and will remain a 'kitten' for life. The defect makes her tongue stick out and her eyes permanently wide which is great for photos.

Now, I know way more about these meme Cats (it's like a modern day curse) than I ever wanted to and I have to confess, they are adorable. But, I fear it will make Internet tools more likely to try and breed Cats with birth defects to get famous. That will result in more litters of kittens who have not so cute defects, like extreme cleft palettes, etc. who aren't in demand. Am I crazy? Maybe. But, we have a couple of really gross ones here. They were dumped because no one in their right mind would want them. Of course, no one ever accused my mother of being in her right mind. I just kind of go, hey fugly, want some dinner?

If you're like I was and you don't believe Grumpy Cat is anything more than that stupid 70's 'Hang In There, Baby' poster, go look on You Tube. This Cat is on every tv talk show known to man and has meet and greets and festivals in her honor almost as big as Woodstock. She has a movie deal, her own brand of coffee and is the Friskies 'spokes' Cat.  It's crazy.

ps..That 70's 'hang in there' Cat is now on a Geico commercial. Great. The thing is long dead and is still famous.
