Scientists have discovered an Earth sized planet that could support life. HERE. Dubbed Keplar-186f, it seems to have surface water and a host star only slightly dimmer than our sun. It is thought to have habitable conditions. This is pretty freekin' exciting. The article and comments there are also interesting. Don't bother with the video, it's boring. One astronomer says, the evidence is rock solid and this is a historic find. Those of us who loved Fox Mulder say, it's about time. Where do I buy my ticket?
ps..why does science only entertain the theory that all life forms must have water? Science fiction has always wondered why life can't be sustained in another bio-form. HERE.. other possible forms of life are listed. But, I'll take this small step in the form of Keplar 186f. Life there may actually look like us. Maybe that's more comforting to the masses.
Artist's rendering of Keplar. I wouldn't need sunblock there. I'm in.

Amazing. And some fools still don't believe there are other life forms. Of course there are. Probably far more advanced than us.
Agreed. They have been observing us for ages and are probably among us.
I believe that, as well. I think they hold great positions of power all around the world. And always have. In politics and at universities and anything dealing with money, science, teaching or power. Many are behind the scenes, we never knew them. Never will. IMO.
You may be right. I don't know. I just believe they are probably here with us. "We are all made of star stuff', Carl Sagan. 'Our very existence has everything to do with space and the Universe', DD.
