Rock Hall-Nirvana-All apologies feat Lorde VS Kurt Cobain

Nirvana featuring Lorde singing one of my favorite songs, 'All Apologies'.

Nirvana featuring Kurt Cobain singing 'All Apologies'.

Nirvana was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. It's fucking retarded that the weren't already in there. WTF? What's left of Nirvana had....I can't even stand saying it....Lorde...do 'All Apologies'. Oh, just pass me the gun already. Was she showing off for Kendall and Kylie and Selena and the Biebs? Waving her arms, clenching her fists, flip flopping that mess of hair so she looked 'cool. Kurt never gave a shit about looking cool or his fucking hair. He didn't even wash it sometimes, because his time was better spent writing the poetry that spoke to the dysfunctional masses. His matter of fact, calm delivery was backed by an 'intenseness and passion' that came quietly from his shattered soul. When he did jump around it was because he was lost in the music and his high, not a photo shoot. Lorde is about as 'intense and passion filled' as as Courtney Love's designer clutch bag. The twat was wearing a pants suit! Why couldn't the band do the song with just Kurt's voice on a track (don't even try and tell me they don't have his individual voice on a track) and some photos of Kurt on a big screen. Now, that would be a tribute. This shit makes me sick and ruined my day before it even started.

The poetry and tunes of Cobain will never leave my head for one day. I don't need some 'popular' girl to remind me. I'd rather listen to THIS. It makes more sense and is less insulting to Kurt. Or how about a little 'Rape Me, (my friend). But, after listening to Nirvana eat shit with Lorde, I'm feeling more Francis Farmer. Hook up the electrodes and pour some water over me. I'm done.

Didn't watch the show. I hate f'g awards shows. But I believe they were inducted on first ballot. Meaning, as soon as they were eligible. KISS has waited an eternity, however. Luckily, they are all still alive to accept. Peter Criss is 68. Gene is 65, I believe. I love Nirvana. So did Courtney and Frances Bean actually go onstage to accept the award for Kurt? Can you imagine all the Boo's? *for Courtney. I heard they were supposed to. lorde is ok. I heard her sing once. The only time I really enjoyed another singer memorializing a lead singer, was when George Michael sang with Queen at Freddy's Concert for Aids at Wembley. Long ago. It was amazing. George Michael has a fabulous voice for Queen, it was a wonderful tribute. And why in the hell did they have the show in NYC? When the R&R HOF is in Ohio? Well, I am going to see KISS again, this summer because my beloved Def Leppard are appearing with them. I will be seeing Alice Cooper for the first time, just because I have to see Crüe, one last time, for their final tour. I never saw Nirvana. I did love their "Unplugged" the best of that series, it was hypnotic. So, I didn't watch the HOF show. I like to go in person. Sadly, dayum...I can't afford to see everybody. Lorde needs to get over herself. She's really lapping up all the ass kissing. Adele never bought into the hype. She never was adored that way. And her voice! My gawd. It's just because she's not a f'g Barbie doll. OT: Hey, I rented "The Book Thief" at Redbox. Kind of a little movie. I only rented it because Geoffrey Rush is in it. Please watch it, it's a perfectly beautiful little movie. Have a good weekend all. Xo

My son's all time favorite. It was his first concert. He was ten years old. I was broke. I won tickets off of the radio station and off to Houston in my minivan we went!
I bought him 2 t-shirts: one to wear and one to keep. He still has both. That year, Kurt died. It still makes my son very sad. We had such a great time at that concert, we'll never forget it. Shonan Knives was the first warm up (sucked), and The Breeders was the second warm up. They rocked. I believe this was in '94....I think....but we both remember every detail of that concert. The first thing Kurt said when he came on stage was, "Y'all enjoyin' yer new Pearl Jam record?"

Cool story @Cut. I had real little kids at that time. Wasn't into concerts for a while. My daughters first boyfriend played an acoustic version of "Rape Me" at his mothers private second wedding. No words just the music. It was his way of flipping them off, IMO. They loved the "music". Gawd, he loved how he pulled that one off. It made him smile.

I didn't watch it, I was too busy, I saw it this morning. Unplugged Nirvana was possible the best album of all time. Clapton unplugged is the only tie in my eyes.

LOL, Cut. Kurt was funny sometimes. Nice memory for you and the boy.

I loved Rape Me, it kills me, it's so true and heartbreaking. I despise when fools think it's about sex or rape. It tells me they never listened to Kurt at all.

I love All Apologies. First song I ever loaded on my phone. I don't understand all the hype about Lorde. I find her to be very whiny sounding.

Me too. If there's one thing Kurt never did, it was whine.
