Hail damage, it isn't much of anything around here, because we don't have nice siding, so who cares? But, that hail storm last night was something else. You can go HERE and see the film of what it looked and sounded like. It was dark here when it really started in. But, the thing was, it wouldn't stop! I have never experienced a hail storm that wouldn't stop. Usually, when you get hail, it's only for a minute at best, maybe two. But, NO, this fucker went on and on and on. It literally hailed all night. We opened the door and watched it sheer off branches. It's was like a power trimmer from the sky.
Lissa took that photo, she put it online and called it, 'Grandma's garden going to hail'. I thought it was funny. But, really it was wild and lasted all night. It would stop hailing for a few minutes, then start up again. The yard was white, it looked like December out there. I went out and looked, but, I didn't see much real damage here. The plants look haggard, but, they'll spring back. I had taken all my hanging baskets down. None of the siding here is worth a shit anyhow. I feel bad for the people living in decent houses. They're calling their insurance providers today. A lot of them too. There are a lot of broken windows around town. Some pretty major car damage and broken glass everywhere. But, no injuries.
There's Lis out in it before the hail started. The wind took her umbrella and she says that's what tore it up, but, I think she just fucked it up herself. Playing with it on the ground. Don't ask me why she's soaking wet with an umbrella. She's a kid, who knows? I enjoy being out in storms, so does she. Anyway, that's the word today. Oh, I forgot, the social worker caught me off guard today and I had just gotten up. I had the alarm set, but, of course, the power went out. Anyhow, she said, 'I'll bet you were up all night with that horrible storm.' And I nodded, but, really, I was up all night talking to an old friend who found me on Face Book. The lights were flashing like crazy, but, somehow the computer service held strong last night. I hadn't seen him in years. Turns out, he just got out of prison (drug charges) and is trying his best to live like a legal citizen. It was so good to talk with him. We're going to get together as soon as he can get to town. I'll take some pics of that to put on here when it happens. I've decided I like this Face Book thing, it does help you connect with people you haven't seen in ages. So many old people have found me it's amazing. It's good to talk with them actually. I think that place is okay as long as you don't post anything too personal. This is my place though. Oh, and I don't bring Face Book and the blog together. I just think it's better that way. This is my place to rant and diary my goofy shit..not there. I'm just now starting to get you guys straight on there. It would help if you private message me what your name is on here. Sorry, but, I get confused. I do know most of you though.
Anyhow, that's the night and the day. Today, Alissa is spending the night with some relatives, so I get a free night! Yay! PS..I told Lis last night to stop yelling profanities at the sky to stop the hail. I think she pissed the Elementals off for real. It was very un-witch like behavior. She has a lot to learn. Maybe that's why the storm here went on so long and no, I am not kidding. That's the way I think. I also think I fucked up a rain spell...again. When will I learn to stop meddling in the weather just because I'm too lazy or tired to hook up the back hose? Sometimes I'm a bad witch by accident. Sorry, Midwest.

Did u lose any windows? Car damage? I saw houses on GMA today that had NO siding left. All ripped away. It's so strange to think hail can do that. Then u see the sizes of it and you get it. Softball sized! That can kill ppl and pets! Destroy a house easily. Car lots will be reeling . I always think of them, then they have a hail-sale. U fix the damage. Yea riiight! Those cars are trashed. I don't think they should even be selling them. Glad you like FB. It's fun at 1st. Then it's not. Enjoy it. But I never had but a couple of old friends ever find me. Eh, I like twitter better. It's instant news and updates. Take care there.
Love it..."grandmas garden is going to hail". Little smart ass in the making. :-)
Rox, no, all my windows are set back. I did take my stained glass piece down though, just in case. Hail that size could kill a person if they couldn't find shelter. It was pretty awesome to watch. Solid ice from the sky for hours!
Speak, yeah, she came up with that on her own. She's a pistol.
When I was a youngster, we used to occasionally get hail in Southern California. It was short bursts of it and the stones were only pea size. When I was in college, I had to pull to the side of the road while a heavy hail storm came down. They were the size of quarters in diameter; luckily my car nor me got dented.
Yah, cursing out Mama Nature and her league is NOT a good idea.
Great to hear you are connecting with old friends on the ol' FB. Keeping this and that separated is smart thinkin', cookie! I don't spread too much personal stuff on there, as you know - just share design ideas and art and shit and shine-ola. It is funny, tho, when someone freaks out sometimes and airs their dirty laundry. SOMETIMES.
O - look for a package comin' your way for you and the fam. x0
I haven't seen that yet, but, I wait with glee and a little cackling.
There are no bad witches....only fake ones.
(Wink wink)
Witch is a human word for us. I'm not that fond of it actually. Can you think of a better word?
No Pat, I cannot. Lots of people still take the words pagan and wiccan as threatening. So..."witch" suits me just fine! I've been called that all of my life. It made me cry when I was little. Now it makes me grin. Besides my son and hubs, my only living relatives are my two older brothers who have damned me to hell. They'll get there first.
Got a pic of that house????? Mama's tryna' focus!
Glendas
No pic yet, but, it's close and things are happening! It's exciting and scary.
Casey, Glendas? Ummmm, maybe I'll stick with witch or practitioner.
