Sofia Coppola's 'The Bling Ring'

I just found the real Bling Ring, the Sofia version, free HERE. If you want to see it there, you'd better mark it and watch it soon, because it WILL be pulled quickly. That's the way that place works. It was a real treasure for me to find because I absolutely love the work of Sofia Coppola and I hadn't seen this, since I don't have Netflix or anything and we have no movie rental store here.

I had seen the generic Bling Ring on Hulu, I watched it with Lissa as a lesson in how not to live. This one, so far, is not that different, but, Sofia always has a good modern take on things. She makes interesting choices as a director, but, the story is pretty much the same because it's a true story and a fairly recent one. We all remember it.

I remember following it loosely, media hype, etc, I remember being outraged that Ryan Seacrest actually gave some of these little thieves a reality show in the midst of it. It was like financially rewarding the stupid and the criminal. It was just an outrage. Period.

So, I'm halfway though this movie and my mind is blown. It's, jesus..mind...fucking..blown. These little shit bags thought the world owed them whatever they wanted and they just marched up to stranger's homes, bold as brass and basically shopped 'till they dropped. It's not that they stole things, I mean, kid's do stupid shit, it's the way they went about it. It's the total disrespect of other human beings. It's the total lack of regard for anyone or anything..and their GD sense of entitlement! I never in a million years thought I would ever feel sorry for the likes of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, but, I damn sure do! To know that your personal space, that you are supposed to feel safe in, has not only been invaded, but, the way they did it! They had their grubby thieving paws on everything! All your personal items, hygiene items, strange feet in your shoes, hands on all your clothes and jewelry, your food messed with, liquor bottles drank from, even their GD pets were messed with! Their beds and pillows, medicine, everything was up for grabs! Think about it. They touched and fucked with everything these celebs owned..in their own homes!! You'd have to throw a ton of stuff away because you just wouldn't know what the hell they did! I am so blown away by the sheer evil of it. Where was their moral compass?? This goes WAY beyond simple thieving.

This is what you get when you have a Hollywood, valley mom raising kids in the church of The Secret. (Huge eye roll and puke.) Have you read any of that nonsense? I may have some unconventional beliefs, but, I sure as hell don't use magik to run my every day life. Life is all about reality, budgeting, common sense and mostly, hard work. A lot of hard work. Who the hell raises their kids to wish for something, and 'make it so'?? These kids should have gotten years of jail time for this. Years. Superficial bastards with no respect for anyone, raised by total idiots! I am outraged now that they got off so easy. They were evil and something is wrong with their heads. You can't tell me they've changed. They learned nothing from this lenient shit. Fuck this noise. Now, I'm just pissed. I may as well go watch the rest. But, my head might explode. Truthfully, this movie is not that good, I expected better. But, I just can not wrap my head around the sheer truth of this story.
