The kid wasted all her money on games that aren't designed to be won, but, this nice lady asked her what she was trying for and just gave it to her. She was so nice.
I ordered a funnel cake and that sucker was HUGE. I couldn't eat but a third of it. Shauna and Lis ate the rest. They feed you good in the Midwest.
We were waiting for the cotton candy machine to heat up, but, by that time, I had too much funnel cake. Shauna and Lissa hit every food booth, it was funny. I don't know Shauna that well, but, she was fun last night. She seems real sweet, I don't know what Aunt Bitch Face's problem with her is. Maybe she can't be bought, bribed or blackmailed? Yep. That'd do it.
Happy kid.
The bouncy obstacle course is murder, Grandma, murder! I wouldn't know. I sat on a bench and smoked a cig. My back was acting up and I couldn't get around like the night before. I didn't get back to the Horse barn. Maybe tonight. Little cousin Autumn will be back tonight, so maybe we'll take her down there. There's nothing else to do here and fair week has been fun.
Choosing a souvinier on the way out. She choose a light up rasta wig. It was bright. We used it as a flashlight on the way home from Beer Can Alley last night. I got a rubber tattoo ankle bracelet for a dollar. Oh, the snow cones were the best treat, by far. Only a buck too.

You are just so darned pretty.
Liss' rahstah wig cracked me up. I'm sitting here with Buddy sleeping on my lap. I saw Liss's pic and literally laughed out loud. Doggie thinks I lost it. I still think she's gonna be a comedian.
'Hope this comment makes it. Mine have not been coming through, and I've been nice!
Aren't you the cutest thing with your funnel cake! I'm jealous. I didn't go to our county fair. not much fun alone. I always took my kids. Soon, will be the State Fair and I don't even know about that. It's so big and f'g hot. Ugh. Novelty foods are fun but expensive to try. That's what draws everybody, of course. The Food. Looks like a nice day and a fun time.

Awww, thank you, Cut. I have my good days, some days it's scary. Even to me. I have no idea how you can change so much from day to day, but, I reckon it happens with age.
Is this the Iowa state fair? My grandma lives in Iowa (Davenport) and I've always wanted to visit her during fair time just so I can go, lol.
Looks like ya'll had a good time. I love funnel cakes. I will eat them until they make me sick. But I do love them.
And Lis looks like she had a good time. The blue hair does make a fashion statement.
Sorry you didn't get back to the animals. I'm worried about that bull. He seemed so sad.
Hey, do y'all have fried Oreos and fried Twinkies??
They're sooo good! I can only eat one of the oreos because they're so rich. I love going to the fair with my husband; he eats any and everything. I get to taste every single thing without wasting money and food. I can't eat much these days, but I bet I could put down a quarter of a pork-a-bob right about now!
LMFAO at Iowa State Fair. Sorry, but, that cracked me up.
Haha its OK! I don't really know what it looks like my mom just always talks about how awesome it is! I guess that pic doesn't really look state fair like tho....have u ever been? My son will be 4 next year and I think may be old enough.....
The state fair is big city and huge. It would take you a week to hit it all. This is Backwoods Podunk, what you've seen is all of it. Last year all we had was livestock, so this year is way more fun.
They did have bull riding competition last night with the open bingo booth right next to it. Who's bright idea was that?
Our county fair is pretty sad. We have livestock, a few food booths, and demolition derbies in the "grandstand". They should rename it " The Shitkicker Convention". I felt sorry for the poor girls that competed for fair queen. A 500 dollar scholarship wasn't worth having to walk the fair grounds the whole time.
Pat, you look so cute with your funnel cake! Lissa looks a lot like you, and she looks like she had a great time.
I'm afraid of the pigs, too. They just look mean to me. I love the goats, poultry, sheep, and the rest of it, but not the pigs.
Poor little bull, his eyes look so scared. It was nice you were able to reassure him.
I love our county fair. We are pretty close to Portland, and this is a large and well-populated county, so there are a lot of exhibits and events. I always have to have curly fries, if the boy scouts are making them, and a funnel cake. Sometimes we watch bands or dog or dance acts on the stages. I love to see the art exhibits and the quilts and preserves. It's pretty inspirational. I love to check out the poultry and rabbits, thinking I would like to raise meat rabbits like my parents did, but when I look into their eyes, I put it off for another year. I always visit the goats (but not the pigs) and I like to check out the new campers and trailers for sale. I also like to visit the pioneer area and always try to pan for gold, but I am hopeless. I never get it right. Usually they have interesting crafts and items in the little general store in the pioneer setting. (Animal skulls, pelts, etc.)
I don't do rides, though.
We like the demolition derby, too, but it's become so much more competitive and formulaic as to what they do with the vehicle to come out ahead. For years I told my husband that he and his friend John, Andy and some other friends should get together and assemble a demolition derby car. I thought it would be great fun for them, and wonderful male bonding, but he always nixed it. I think it would be harder to do now, as competition feels like it has changed.
We went to the demolition derby in Tygh Valley one year. It was a smaller fair, but so much fun! Very rural and friendly. Now that was a good time!
Sorry for all my rambling. I have been trying to empty my mother's house out, with some help from my sister, and my son has been very, very sick. I'm really worried about him. We are all tired. Thank goodness that little Emma is settling in, and not as wild anymore. I suggested naming her Mrs. Bitey for awhile there.
Christina
I looked up the recipe for funnel cake and soon I'm going to make it :-)
Thank you, Christina. I hate 60 though, so far. I like all of them except hogs and cattle. Ick. Though that bull was sweet, he was a youth and scared. I liked him, he had a personality. I'm sorry, but, most of them don't. They are dull as fuck. I think they might be retarded. And mean. A chicken has a personality. I love them. Some were afraid and I left them alone, but, some were excited and talked to me. It was hilarious. I got one to mimic my head ducking cackle. Lissa and I were rolling.
Hey, I once drove demolotion derby and came in forth!! It was big too, so I did well. If I hadn't lost reverse, I might have won! Actually, that didn't stop me, but, I lost second and eventually third too. Ha. I would flip off some big biker looking chick and let her ram me, so I could go again with no reverse. Fuckin' A that was fun. Powder Puff? Not where I come from Buddy. LOL. Then bitches were mean!
I hope your son is feeling better soon and I sure am glad to hear Ms. Bitey is settling in. Put her in bed with your son and let her get him on his feet. Keep me posted.
Lia, really, cool! Don't you have it where you live, at fairs and stuff? It's a fair staple here. I think it tastes like a crisp hot donut. I get mine with powdered sugar, I hate the frosting. You can't beat a hot fried donut though. I am not a sweet person, but, I can't pass up any fried dough. At least a little. Let us know how yours come out.
Lissa reminds me of a young Abigail Breslin... Adorable! Looks like a wonderful night!
