I ran across THIS article about how Peppa Pig is bringing home the bacon financially. It's one of the most popular shows for children under five. Why haven't I heard of this? Lis is too old for it, but, Gabe would love it. It must be a British thing. I went to You Tube out of curiosity and I have to admit, I loved it. And I don't even like any cartoons except the occasional Sponge Bob..if forced to watch it. I get so bored with most animation. I always have, unless it's about people. I do not like animal animation and I never did. I may be odd, but, even as a child, I never liked cartoon animals. I was fascinated by the human face only. However, Peppa Pig is different. The pig family's noses seem to be sticking out of the sides of their heads, as if drawn by a child. Usually that detail would make it unwatchable for me, but, here I find it sort of oddly charming. The illustrations are so damn simple that it makes it simple to watch. It doesn't hurt your head and it's not loud. It doesn't contain head splitting music either. The story lines are sweet and easy to follow. They do have accents, but, the vocals are clearly pronounced and I don't think any American child would have trouble understanding the characters.
Some of the comments on that first link were negative. They say Peppa is a brat. She jumps in puddles. But, Peppa was not a brat in the three episodes I watched and she had permission to jump in puddles..with her wellies on. I think this show is adorable and can't wait to show it to Gabe. He LOVES tv. HERE is a link, there are lots of episodes on there and they're in good quality so you can full screen. Peppa Pig, what a cutie. Her baby brother pig is super adorable too. Don't you love that spikey Sun in the blue sky?

About your header, I recognize thst varigated plant in your garden. What kind of plant is that?
That's a varigated dog wood, Jane. Everyone needs one, they spruce any place up with contrast. Easy to grow, you can keep them a shrub or let them become a small multi trunked tree. I have a start to take with me.
How many times I dozed off to the peppa peppa peppa pig theme song..... You should look up Oobie if you like this show, it is both weird and hypnotizing.... Gable might be a little old for it, but it's funny anyway...

My granddaughter loves Peppa. We notice she occasionally uses the English version of words...garden instead of yard, sitting room instead of living room. It is entertaining.
We are in the UK and my 3 year old adores Peppa Pig. I can safely let him watch it without supervision as I know the stories always have content about kindness and laughter and love. Plus some of them have stories or lines that are funny for adults. The team who did Peppa also did a similar cartoon called Ben and Holly which may be worth taking a look at but this house prefers Peppa. The other show my little ones love is Octonauts which is fabulous with regards to marine biology.

Oh...and did I mention that Daddy Pig likes to lay on the couch...just like their own Papa...lol!
