RIP Elaine Stritch

Elaine Stritch, undisputed Queen of the Broadway stage, rest in peace. You will be missed. I'll drink to that.

Elaine on her Golden Girls audition. A role that went to Bea Arthur.

I was just thinking about her last night! What a great dame. And I loved her one woman show. She was one in a million.

So strange for me to have seen her in so many shows and movies, yet I never knew who she was. People like her are really the backbone of the industry. The "super stars" are only the window dressing.

The last thing I saw her in was "Monster-In-law" and she stole the movie as soon as she appeared. LOVED this woman. The gays loved her. Everybody loved her. She was a great "broad". Gawd, when she spoke, I f'g listened! You Will be missed dear.

I know her from a hundred random places and 30 Rock where she was pretty amusing as Jack's mother. She always seemed like a character. The kind you want to adopt you.
