I loved these guys!!! The Beatles were okay, but this I loved Paul Revere (and especially Mark Lindsay. . . yes, absolutely I know which one is which) starting when I was about 10 or 11. I loved Cherokee Nation. Sorry to see him go. He seemed to be a really good guy. Christina
Welcome back! I have been forgetting to check in. Oh no! Paul died? Sadness. I never missed "Where The Action Is" their Saturday show that came on after American Bandstand. I still know the theme song. We had a bit of a thing for Mark Lindsey on here a few years ago. The man is good looking. I even remember him on The Dating Game and he didn't get picked and the girl was so upset. She wouldn't go near the guy she did choose. Well, she couldn't be with Mark anyway, he was going to marry me. :) I was a little kid, but knew every word to every song. and I even liked "Fang". Mark was all mine. In his skin tight white uniform pants, and he is tall. *Swoons* LOL.
Oh, good gawd. I used to RUN home from school to watch "Where The Action Is". I was SO in love with Mark Lindsay (lead singer!) I didn't know what to do with myself. This video was a later line-up (after Fang!) with Freddy Weller and Charlie Coe (both absolutely adorable!). This was ONE hot looking, very talented band. Thanks for posting!! Linda
Linda! Charlie Coe! Good Lawd! I forgot about him. I think he was pretty cute. Right? I remember him being in Tiger Beat I think. They all were. Paul was a married man, so he wasn't in as much stuff. But their show was so good! And the music was great and so popular. I can sing all their songs still. But my mother threw away all my LP's when she moved out of town w/o me. Me and my sister had their LP's and some 45's. It's a wonder we didn't melt them from playing them so much! Paul had shows booked thru next year! He had never planned on stopping. Good for him!
Anon 9:15 - do you remember when Keith Allison used to fill in with them sometimes? He was adorable too! I used to fall asleep at night with Mark Lindsay's full-page 16 Magazine photo looking at me. I saw Mark recently at the Happy Together Reunion Tour here in L.A. He still looks good and sounded great. Talk about a blast from the past. Kids today have no idea what great music really is! Cheers, Linda
Linda, Did he look like he has been "freshened up"? Because the man is 72. I saw a pic that looked like he may have had a lift. I know Mick is still rocking and Keith and they are older still. I was looking up Mark y'day and found he has never had children. What a shame. The man was so dayum good looking. Tall and slim. If I had the money, I'd lift all my sags too! So, I don't fault anybody. Except Kenny Rogers and maybe Mickey Rourke. C'mon dude. Enough already. I think I am old enough to still think of being in your 70's as being old and it's not so much the case nowadays. Good for him. But his wife isn't anything special, so I kid of appreciated she was normal. I bet we can watch The Happening, Happening '68 and Where the Action Is on YouTube. And yes, I do remember Keith. I always taped my 16 magazine and Tiger Beat posters to my bedroom walls too. I was really into the Monkees back before the Raiders. I wanted to marry Mickey. My sister loved Peter -Eww! LOL
Yeah, Rox - he has DEFINITELY been freshened! He still looks alright. Okay, so do you remember Jerilynn Stapleton? She was one of the Action Dancers and wanted to be her SO BAD. She did the Skate and Boogaloo and she had that long, gorgeous ponytail and she was so cute - gawd how I envied her, getting to hang out with all those gorgeous rocker boys. So I googled her recently, and she's an old, butch, hard-core feminists rights lesbian. Interesting the hand that life deals ya, huh? I saw the Monkees at the Greek Theater here in L.A. the year before Davey died. The show was so nostalgic and great and bittersweet (I took my good friend, who is still the Monkees No. 1 Fan and we had such a good time - she knew the words to every song. That friend is now batting pancreatic cancer, so I'm so glad I got to give her that!)
Linda, That's so funny about that dancer. I'm going to Google her now. I don't remember any of those girls specifically. I was kinda looking at Mark's tight white pants. I did used to wonder if they got to date the guys tho. Kinda bums out a little girl madly in love with those guys. OMG! I remember an interview The Monkees did on Today the last year Davy toured with them. And they were great. But Al asked Davy about being the "heart throb"...Micky of course, being the joker, said "Now he's just a 'coronary'!!" Then not long after that, he had died of a heart attack. Gawd. Like, who knew? I never got to see them or anything, their shows aren't cheap. I'm glad your friend got to see them, with ol' twinkle eyes Davy! I would have been singing right along with her. I still know all their songs. You never forget that stuff. You're an awesome friend.

The Animals were way better.

Sorry. Didn't make a lot of sense. Meant to say that I loved them a lot more than the Beatles or any other band around at that time.
Christina
They made some good music, that's for sure.
Melvin, I liked the Animals too, but, they were in a diff category cause of EB. I dig The Baby Animals too, so what do I know?
There were so many bands that I liked at that time. And still do. And yessssssssss to the Animals. ER very sexy!

Oh, sorry Rox. I see your name!
