MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -
'At least one Mid-South parent is concerned about what she says is a satanic symbol on a school bus.The parent snapped a photo when she noticed the shape of an upside down, five-pointed star outlined in the brake lights of a school bus that was stopped in Cordova.
"Anyone who fears a God, if not God and Jesus Christ, should be outraged," she said.
She says Christians should be outraged that a symbol that looks like a pentagram would be allowed in the design of a vehicle used to transport children to public schools.'
"Why'd they put it up there," Marsha Hudson asked. "Why'd they put it upside down?"
It IS strange, isn't it? But, upside down pents don't always symbolize the goat's head. They're sometimes used to push away negative energy. It may have been a protective sign, or just a random accident. I just think it's weird and probably should be removed because it clearly IS a symbol used in different spiritual beliefs. Separation of church and state should be taken seriously. But, I'd love to talk to some of the outraged parents (there seem to be a lot of them) and tell them, I understand your point, and agree, now can we also do something about the 'In God We Trust' thing that's all over our money and courthouses? I really don't appreciate that.
While we're at it, what's this all about? They call it a Texas star or western star, wall art. I see it a lot around here, living in the Midwest. (Lots of cowboys and rodeos here too.) People have them over their fireplaces, on their doors, even big ones out on barns. My neighbors have several hung on their pool fence. There's a huge light up one up on the square, it's the symbol for the Ladies Of The Western Star, a spouse offshoot of the Masons. Do people just not see what that is? I know Texas is the lone star state, but, it isn't in a circle in their flag, I looked. And this is Iowa, not Texas. So, I get secretly tickled when I see these in or on the homes of devoted god followers. Dude, that's a Pentacle.

Well if it protects the kids against Jesus sending them off a cliff because GOD'S PLAN then I don't see how that's a bad thing.
I could never get the "fear the God" part of any religion. I just can't understand why you should have FEAR in a religion. Shouldn't it be LOVE?
No, you have to fear him. We just read the story of Moses. Me and Lis. She was outraged that Moses wasn't allowed into the promised land after all he did for god. You gotta fear him. Oh, and never question him either. That pisses him right off.
So dumb I can barely see it. the kids don't see it trust me they are putting gum in each other's hair and cussing a lot.

I have one. It's not in a circle of rope. It's just a rusty star. I took it down after we painted our front porch and it started to drizzle rust on the house. It's in my garden now. We used to live in Texas, so I get it. But the bus lights? Someone at the bus factory is clearly f'g with people. Those bus's used to mostly be manufactured in Indiana. The guy is probably grinning from ear to ear cuz finally somebody noticed?! LOL.

Noelle, you're right. Only the parents see it.
Rox, that made me laugh. You could be very right.
