A UFO fireball over the skies of Southern California was filmed and that video is
HERE. It is one of the oddest things I've ever seen. If it's a meteor, then why is there an orb coming out of it and going in the opposite direction? It's worth watching.

I think it is a satellite glowing up in the atmosphere. That 'orb' is just a lightweight part that got torn off and the high winds made it 'fly backwards'.
I'm with bastard on the possibility of the lightweight part that got torn off. I saw a fireball once a few years back. I took a few photos with my then crappy camera that I have buried somewhere in my backup files. We were riding our bicycles and saw that thing just falling from the sky. They are really cool to watch.
I had no idea what it could be. I just think it's cool because it's so odd. I wish for contact, but, you guys make sense.
I thought it might be something that tore off of the main whatever-it-was, too, but it looks as though it has a controlled look to its "flight". I guess that if I really thought it was something that broke off, I would expect it might have a more irregular flight pattern, as opposed to this very linear kind of trajectory. Maybe I'm all wet. It just looked like what I expect "intelligent control" to look like.

I wish someone had followed the projectile to see what happened to that. And would fireball burn out or would it hit earth?
