28 clear photos of Banksy's work. It's a slide show, but, goes fast even on my slow ass, cheap computer. It's worth a look. I dig Banksy's work. Some of it is gorgeous, all of it shows humor and some kind of statement. Think pieces. Word is out that he has a team who helps him paint (stencil) these things, but, so did Andy Warhol and he is considered one of the most, if not the most infuentual artist/promoters of the 20th century. I have tons of respect and admiration for Andy. I like Banksy, I wish I could own one. Anyway, take a look, love him or despise him, it's fun.

Did you watch the movie about one month of Banksy in New York? It's been out for several years, but I saw it for the first time a couple of months ago. Very cool. He did a new piece every day, somewhere in New York, for a month. A different place each time, and only a few clues online prior, so it was kind-of an Easter egg hunt for people to find the pieces before they were painted over, etc. There was a time where he painted multiple small canvases, and set up a sidewalk sale with an old man trying to sell those pieces without them being labelled as his. They were $60 each, I think. The old guy was not able to sell them all. One guy bought about 4 of them only because he needed something on the walls of his new place. Other people talked down the price, etc. Later on they said (in the movie) the actual value of the pieces. I don't remember if it was $25,000 each, or what.
I love Banksy art pieces. There is a fake one in Portland (at least one) that I like as well. I would have loved to find that street vendor with those canvases.

Love Banksy. I remember a story about a guy who didn't know what he had, that he had gotten dirt cheap. Now, what doesn't that ever happen to me? I'd just be tickled to death.
I paid attention to the dates because some of it looked unlike his early work. You can see a clear difference in focus. My fav, because it made me laugh, is the real dog urinating on the mural of the dog and hydrant.
