We've come a long way, baby..

SOURCE

An Ohio middle school girl had a word censored from her T-shirt in a class photo. It was the principals decision and it was made because the principal, Kendra Young felt that some people might find the word offensive. What was this terrible offensive word?....

Yep, feminist. And the principal is a woman! Also, that's the worst photo shop I've ever seen.

I'm so thrilled that people spend so much time and energy and passion over these things when there are real problems in the world.

I must at the same times say I'm not fond of shirts with arrows pointing me to the baby, or "I'm with stupid", or pretty much anything. Political slogans make me want to punch Code Pink, or run into their cars. Show your ideals by behavior and leave me alone.

This makes me Kinda furious, not really worth being furious about. "I'm a fucking feminist" now that deserves censor. What is the matter with people. Over sensitive or over crazy!!! Noelle

I saw a news crawl on the morning news today that a lot of the egg laying chickens in Iowa had come down with a strain of bird flu. I guess they mean at egg production facilities. I thought of your lil chicks and hope they are fine.

So stupid and backwards (uneducated, maybe?) that anyone would think that the word "feminist" should be censored in any way. Ridiculous and offensive that someone did this.
It is scarey times for dogs and chickens right now. When they find any evidence of bird flu, they exterminate the entire flock, which in this case, is thousands of birds. It makes me worry about my birds, because there is always a possibility of cross-contamination from wild birds. I practice bio-security, as much as possible. If bird flu is found anywhere in our area, though, it wouldn't take much for someone to start a witch hunt for small, private flocks.
As far as dogs, there is a dog flu in the midwest that is spreading, also. Scarey stuff, and I don't know if there is any vaccine. It may be too new for anything to be developed.

I have that cigarette commercial stuck in my head now! Virginia Slims! OMG. Such a good song!!! I had forgotten that! :) I know! "I'm old"...enough to have seen all the cigarette commercials. My kids never saw them. Never phased me. I smoked , then I never did again. The commercials played on. I smoked like it was my job tho. I knew I'd be dead by 30 if I didn't quit. I quit at 17.
