Home invasion is right up there on my list of worst crimes and THIS is a bad one. A really bad one. I cried while reading it. And we all know I'm an emotionless bitch. That dude is not human and there is no justice unless they burn him to death and they won't. He also had chance after chance in our legal system, even though they knew he was dangerous. Maybe that's why it isn't in the news. The fuckers are embarrassed at their stupidity. Our legal system is a joke. Murderers and rapists get parole and chances while our prisons are overcrowded with drug offenders. Including weed offenses. They lost the war on drugs long ago, they just won't admit it. But, we still have to be afraid of dangerous people they know should be locked up.
Home invasion is one crime I constantly fear. My house is a mini fortress and I am armed. I wonder if these people even owned a fire arm? The press called their home a mansion, I guess they had money, but, here, we just call that a nice old house. It looks like a lot of houses just outside Guntown. But, Guntown has it's own thugs. People who would fuck you over just for drugs or some minor cash at the first of the month. Am I the only paranoid on here? I don't believe anyone could get into my home without me knowing it. At least I have a fighting chance. This story really affected me. Do things like this freak you out too?

It's been all over the local news since it happened. It's so sad. I hope that POS suffers for what he did.
I remember this story. Didn't the dad call his assistant to bring the $$ and if I remember correctly, the scumbag ordered pizza while he held them and that's how they caught him--dna on the pizza.
And it's stories like this which makes me a firm believer in the 2nd amendment. I'm not one of those crazies that need an uzi, but there are loaded guns in my house and I WILL shoot you if I or my property is threatened. We don't have kids.
We have the "make my day law" here and open carry. I see people carrying guns on a daily basis.
We are going riding up in the mountains tomorrow and you can bet I'll be wearing my weapon.
It is a sad story and I can't imagine the fear the parents must have felt at being unable to stop this tragedy from happening to their child. It takes a real cold son of a bitch to inflict that kind of pain on someone for any reason. The scary part of the home invasion is the fact that you lose control over any aspect of the situation. It happens so quickly and it takes you by surprise, you are unprepared and most people would panic. You may have a weapon, but is it locked away?, do you know how to use it?, are loved ones in the line of fire?.
So many variables that the only solution is to do the unexpected and react with speed and violence. Throw things, scream and attack. Do what the assailant least expects and hope to buy time for your loved ones to escape.
When doing home searches and direct action in war time it is all those things that come into play. We enter a house or compound armed and in force, moving quickly and trying to keep the occupants disoriented and separated to keep them from becoming hostile while we search for someone or weapon caches. You can see and smell the fear, and I wondered often how I would feel if someone entered my home in the same fashion.
No one ever reacts to a violent situation in the way we think we will. We don't live up to our own expectation and can only hope to fall back on training and react by reflex. But for that you must practice and play out scenarios and how you would react to them in each case.
Move through your home and find a "death funnel", a place from which you have an easy vantage point to the most likely access points to your home and stash a noise making device or a weapon that you can use with some skill. Even a slingshot will throw a wrench on an intruders plan. They always expect to have you by surprise.
All that being said. You have to be willing to hurt someone and get hurt yourself.

I have no problem hurting someone who plans to hurt me. But more than likely, I would just pass out from fear.
And here's the sickest part of just how fucked up our judicial system really is. If one of the victims had hurt this piece of shit on THEIR property, he'd have the legal right to sue them for personal injury. Someone PLEASE explain that shit to me!!!
