The calling and the gathering

The new tree, planted in the remains of the old tree and gifts to all the Elementals. I called and summoned and dug and planted into the wee hours, resting on my walker as I had to. I used the dead foot to dig while sitting on the walker. Blue Spruce's have amazingly hardy root systems, even young ones. But, I finally got it all done around midnight which was perfect and I kept the fire burning through the night. I felt the spirits in the wind and I felt a calming. I think I did good. This tree will now hold what needs held and it will be a big beautiful Spruce in not too many years. In a good spot too. I feel much better about everything. There's a nosy cat back there.

Took that pic around 3am to show the fire and that came out. Probably just a lens and light reaction, but, cool how they all look bird shaped.

I don't have flowers yet, too early here, but, every where I go, I find these pretty plastic pitchers in all kinds of colors, so I hung them from the plant hooks on the porch. Weird, but, pretty, how they shine.

Sigh, the last bunny at the farm store. So..Lissa got it. I told her if she doesn't take care of it, I will give it away. But, she doesn't and I find myself spending hours with this moppet. It's an Olive or Oliver..we don't know yet. Cute as hell and so soft.

There, I put my fug hand in so you can see how little the bunny is. Just a tiny baby really. It likes to play though. It chases the cat toys. The cats are confused about it, but, they'll get over it.

  1. Oh, I just wanted to tell my little story. Went to the dr. yesterday, I got strep throat. Throat doesn't hurt but the glands are weird. But that's not the story. While I was there I thought I would change my glucophage 500 to glucophage xr just for convenience. Called the pharmacy to see if it was in today. "Yes, it's in but did you know your copay for a 90 prescription was $3900"? No, I did not. The 90 day supply full price was $10900. I asked her to repeat that because I must not have heard that correctly. She did, it was, I choked! That's worse than that dude that wanted $5000 for that cancer pill. Are these companies totally insane? Just for a little convenience! I'll do it the old way. I just have to remind myself to get on the ball.

And I love the little bunny. You are such a soft touch!

  2. It looks great Pat ! Glad you were careful and got it done pretty quickly. The colorful jugs look lovely too.
Such a sweet lil bunny. Looks nice and soft. Let us know when you find out if it's an olive or Oliver. Either way
It's just adorably cute. Hope your foot feels better soon. Take care Pat.

  3. What a beautiful bunny!! Did you know you can litter box train a bunny? I've had several as house bunnies in the past and they are so fun! I miss mine! (I think this is my first comment on your blog but I've been a reader for years! We are friends on Facebook).

  4. Jane, our health care system is irreparably broken. Obamacare was a fine idea, but it is so disgusting and greedy and uncaring, it blows my mind. The price of your prescription is unconscionable!! Last month, I sent 6 nights in the hospital for a nasty staff infection in my face. $85,000!!! (Thank goodness I have good insurance that paid for all of it!) But it turns my stomach because these charges are ABSURD! Oh, and this doesn't even cover the home nurse for a week and the various and sundry "invisible humans" who looked at my shit (blood, whatever . . .) and billed my insurance THOUSANDS of dollars. I can't even!

  7. What a cute little bunny!! I would be cautious, though, Pat. We all know how things went with that killer bunny in the Monty Python movie. Be on your guard for shifty eye movements, or an unusual interest in your neck.
    Just looking out for you,

  8. Jane, isn't the Blue Spruce just one of the prettiest of the pine family? I love them so and have planted one in every house I've lived in. I hope to see this one big enough to carry many lights one December. You take care and feel better. Do what you have to to get meds. I know how awful and hard it can be.

Pickles, thanks. I think she's too sweet. Otherwise, she would have a new home by now. Lissa is sooooo lazy and her promises mean shit.

  9. Kiki, I am convinced it's Olive. Thanks for saying my weird jug obsession is good. lol. I think it's nutty, but, I swear, every fucking used shop I go to has one.

Tracey, what is your FB name?? Sorry, I get confused unless you talk to me a lot. So do. And how do I housetrain a bunny??? Do tell, I am tired of shaking out the couch cover I use for bunny time.

  10. Anon, you were talking to Jane, but, I relate. I had faced such huge bills with my last major surgery, there was no way anyone could even hope to pay it off. Turned out I was right on my dates of coverage and they were wrong or I'd have been in court until I died.

Christina, I will cover my neck and be cautious, just in case the bunny is a monster, but, it's that fucking Indie who vampires me. I am not joking. He's weird.

  11. I have no problem using the original meds. I was just so shocked that something so simple could be so outrageous. Shouldn't this be a time that the gov't. should step in. They have their nose in everything else. Will we ever see a time when the gov't. actually works for the people? I guess that's just willful thinking.

  12. Big pharm sucks. It's such a racket. In our hospital, there is a pharmacy person who spends a lot of their time calling around, trying to keep us in meds. There are always shortages of a variety of medications. Some of the shortages are due to inspection issues at manufacturing plants, some are due to shortages of raw materials, which, in some cases could be due to civil unrest. With bigger companies buying up smaller companies, there are fewer sources of a number of drugs available.
It just doesn't seem right. It also seems like drugs are far too expensive, and more than once, I've heard that meds cost far less, elsewhere. I was appalled to see what they wanted to charge you, Jane. It seems to me that this should be a topic for candidates to discuss.

  13. I like those little vases, very colourful! And a sweet bunny, does it give lots of love back? I haven't spent much time with rabbits, so I don't know how obvious their love for their people shows.
