Open post

The many faces of Rocco. You gotta love that old dog of Casey J's. I've been up to nothing. I'm still getting MRIs and more doctor crap that isn't interesting at all. My leg is pretty much gone and I've been weak as hell. It's weird and I hate laying around. Maybe I'm depressed? Wouldn't you know if you suffered from depression? I'd think so. But, I have been out a bit. I went to this biker bar with my friend and her husband, in this weird little town. They had a fish fry and man, it was good. We're going back soon. I made it to last call. It's very strange not to smoke in a bar. Very strange. But, they had a beer garden you could smoke in and I met lots of people. I read some cards and they dug out some Halloween candles and shit. It was funny.

That's about it. I managed to plant the front flower bed. It took me forever. I move so slow and can barely carry a watering can. So, this is old age? Fuck that shit. It sucks. I'll take some yard pics and show you what I got done./ I still have shrubs to plant. It's raining, so I put the pots on the sidewalk. Oh, did I tell you guys the bunny is litter trained? I had no idea she would take right to that. The trick was a corner pan. Bunnys like to shit in corners.

So, tell me what all you've been up to. And don't mind the troll. That shit doesn't bother me at all. Trolls are a dime a dozen and ours isn't even witty. What's up? What'd I miss?

  1. It's good to hear from you. I wish you were feeling much better, but I'm so glad you had the energy to post. Not much going on here, job hunting and crossing my fingers! You take care of yourself and I look forward to seeing your garden posts.
Sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

You are a lying piece of shit.

    A lying liar who lies.

Lia should be on here any minute licking your ass.

You are the troll ass face liar.

Thank God the state finally intervened on Lissa's behalf. You fucked the girl over so bad. Took a few calls to her school and the children's services and the night she called 911 because you were so fucked up.

    You are disgusting.

  3. Tia,

If you are reading, would you please open your blog to the truth about Pat? Some of us are just looking for the truth. If you have it, and are so inclined I think a few of us would like to know. Honestly I do think Pat trolls her blog. I don't believe her 90% of the time but I would really like some facts.

  4. Hi, Pat
I'm sorry that leg has gone out on you. It must be very frustrating, considering this is planting season, and you have your own place to landscape now. It must be very draining to have a dangerous schemer as a neighbor, too. Those car seats accumulated in that one area would drive me crazy. It makes me angry just seeing them in a picture. I suggest a bonfire.
I would love to see pictures of your flower beds. I'm sure you did a beautiful job, as always.
I have not done near enough here, but my son mowed most of the front lawn yesterday. I mowed a little of it. I got a new mower a few weeks ago, but was afraid of it, so kept putting it off. Emma killed the old one by pulling many of the parts off and chewing them up. We also cut a lot of blackberries and filled in some of the holes. Sorry Jane and Border, the idea of the boards with pictures of flowers on them was really pretty interesting, but I decided to go conservative here, and just try to fill them in.
The window boxes I have are those wire ones that you put the coco mats in, and they look like crap, so maybe I will redo those today. I think I have every thing I need.
There is just still so much stuff in the house. Yesterday I took another load to Goodwill. Not junk, either. Nice stuff, many things never used, but, I just don't need it, and it is taking up space that I would rather use for other things. The idea of a garage sale on my own is creeping me out, so I am just getting rid of stuff.
Yesterday I finally took apart all the old Christmas wreaths I had set aside. That tells you how behind I am on some things. I clipped the wire, greens went in the yard debris, wire in garbage, cones and forms saved for next year.
Had a family dinner party on Saturday for my son's birthday. Chicken enchiladas in sour cream sauce. Still eating leftovers.
Better go take care of chickies.

  6. Hi Beth, :). Hey good luck on the job hunt!

Troll signed her name on the Tia post. Dumb ass. You don't sound anything like Tia.

Christina, you sound busy as hell. I couldn't have done all that in a month! Yeah, it's super frustrating to be weak. I have always had super powers for labor and I love to work. It sucks, but, this yard is small, so, I should have it done by next year. That snake next door told me I can't plant a Willow because there isn't room. So, of course, I'm planting one. I got all my junk hauled off and now the whole back is a blank canvas. Cool. His shit doesn't bother me, I'll find some plants to block it from view. Arbivite? More Yews? Not sure yet. Dogwood, maybe? I love Dogwood.

  7. Pat, you're sounding so much better. I love those pics of Rocco. He looks so much like Puppy. I just got him here to live with me. He's been at the vet's since Friday. My asshole son let his skin get really bad. He has an infection in his blood and it won't ever go away. It can be controlled somewhat with meds and he's hard to give meds to, so the man/child just doesn't give him his meds. I blame this on the breeder. The mom had it and the breeder didn't say anything until Puppy was diagnosed with whatever it is. I hate breeders who only see dollars signs when they breed their dogs. But I love him so much, it makes me cry to see him that way. I don't know how this will work. He's a big dog and this place is much smaller than the house I had.

Christina, you made me laugh about Emma eating the lawn mower. How are you keeping the new one away from her? And I'm glad you got some of the holes filled. I'm sure Emma's happy---gives her something to do.

Beth, good luck on the job hunt!

Maybe if we just ignore the trolls and don't argue with them, they will get tired and go away.

I have three trees I have to plant soon. They are getting root bound and if I don't do something soon, they probably will die. So I've got to get to it. First I have to get more back shots so it doesn't hurt so bad. Yes, getting old is a bitch!

  8. I forgot to mention. . . Today is Emma's birthday! My littlest baby is two! She and her best buddy Harley celebrated with new toys and extra treats. Plus the lawn was mowed, so that's another whole new adventure. Refinding long lost toys, etc. All in all, an excellent and joyous doggy day.

  9. Jane! Rocco has the same problem with constant skin infections. Casey has tried EVERYTHING. She even made him go vegan for a long time. Is it something about the breed? What kind of trees did you get???

HAPPY, happy birthday to darling Emma. Two is such a good age. They are SO funny. I love toddlers!!

  10. ps..Jane, I found a Rose Of Sharon today! They have never had them here and I have always wanted one! I'm so stoked!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Pat,
As I understand it, the skin problem is something that is mostly found in the red pit bulls. I have had allergy tests and skin and blood samples tested. He is taking cipro and amoxicillin and when I pick him up, he will be taking prednisone. I don't know if he will still be on the first 2. He's just really hard to give meds to.

There is a beautiful, huge Rose of Sharon growing wild on the highway about 30 miles from here. I see it when I go to one of my doctors. It is gorgeous. I have a quamquart (sp), orange and a popcorn tree. At least that's what I call it. It turns colors in the fall and the seed pods look like popcorn. It was growing in the middle of the only living plant in my flower bed. So I pulled it out and planted it. Since it lived, I feel like I should give it a chance to grow. Now, I just have to dig the holes. I could get the man/child to do it but I'm mad at him right now because he let Puppy's skin get so bad. I've given up on the flower beds for right now.

  12. Jane, I hear REALLY good things about this stuff!

    http://www.amazon.com/Dermoscent-Essential-Dogs-45-90-lbs/dp/B006N5NS7I?ie=UTF8&keywords=dermoscent&qid=1462904915&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

The prednisone definitely gives temporary relief, but is so bad for them in the long haul.

  14. Jane: Our Airedale terrier had horrible skin problems for years. He chewed on himself all the time. Sometimes he had weeping sores that crusted over. Eventually the skin on his underbelly turned black from the allergies and irritation. We were bathing him (all 80 pounds of him) twice a week with expensive medicated shampoo, which only helped for a few days. Cortisone heped temporarily, but not completely, and we couldn't use it forever. Antihistamines helped but not much. We were also told he had the canine version of a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection, probably from chewing on himself all the time and breaking the skin. Finally we had him tested for allergies and found out he's allergic to a couple of particular plants and to DUST MITES. No way we were ever going to be dust mite-free, so the vet had a special antiallergy serum formulated for him and we gave him injections for about 18 months. Just like some people take shots for allergies. That worked. We were lucky and he seemed to have built up enough resistance to the allergens that we were able to stop the shots. Now we keep him on a grain-free diet, just to be safe and because it's much better for dogs in general. Maybe some of this info will be of help to you.

  15. Hey, Sara:

Who died and made you Queen of The Self-Righteous Cunts?? She doesn't owe you or anyone else any explanations about anything. And isn't it ironic that you call people who read her blog "sheep-like followers"?? What does that make you? You're here too, aren't you? So why don't you SHUT THE FUCK UP and find a hobby or something!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Anon 7:30-----thanks for sending that site. I just ordered it. If nothing else, maybe it will help the odor. We tried different foods but it still comes down to it's an inherited problem. You mentioned that prednisone was bad to use for a long time---what will happen with long term use? The vet did say that we would have to wean him from the dose and try to find the lowest dose that will still work. So it does sound like he may be on it for a while.

Jane, I never knew airedale terriers could be that size. I was shocked---I thought they were about knee high. I'm impressed.

This is why I love Pat's blog---the sharing of information. You just can't find this anywhere else.

  20. Jane, here's a link to some info about Prednisone side effects. I had a Lhasa Apso and she was on it for MANY years with almost no side effects and/or problems, but it varies from dog to dog (and I was VERY conservative with administering it to her). I hope this helps. I know how frustrating it can be to treat these chronic problems.

  21. Jane, the Airedale is known as "the king of terriers" because of its size. The AKC standard for a male is about 55 lb, but many pet Airedales are much larger. There is a smaller lookalike (actually a different breed), the Welsh terrier. The AKC standard for a male Welshie is 22 lb--but ours, the dog before the Airedale we have now, weighed 30 and was not fat. They are both lovely, sweet, intelligent dogs and great companions. (Not the easiest dogs to train, though. They are "too smart" and get bored with repetition, say lovers of the breeds.)

  22. I have never understood the need for the question "Who died and made you queen/king of ... [whatever]"
Isn't it implied that the previous queen or king croaked and succession kicked in?

This may be an interruption to all your boredom vs. drama shenanigans but as this is an open post I just want to throw it out here 'coz it's the only thing that even mildly tickled my interest.

If pressed, I could take it to the next level and ask if the questioner of said question might be automatically considered not so bright, make a few genital references, skin condition small talk, etc. just to keep with the flow.

Second - sorry to hear about your health stuff. ...sucks.

Thirdly - thanks for the garden updates can't wait to see pics. I planted my front garden this week and got it mulched, and also my front step planters. I've weeded most of my back yard garden beds, and moved the things that needed moving. Still need to plants some new things I bought and mulch back there. I started edging my gardens last year which looks lovely once done, but makes me curse like a sailor when I need to re-edge. Hope your Rose of Sharon does well. I had to cut down an huge mature one from my yard a few years back. I've planted two others but they've only had 2 growing seasons so they aren't very large yet. I am hoping for another week of now rain so I can get the back yard done.

  33. I have found my new favorite ghost show----Ghost Brothers. They are so much fun. They're not afraid to have fun when they are hunting. More like regular people would be and they jump when I would jump. It's fun!

To the anon who told me about the Dermascent site. I ordered the product and put it on Puppy. If nothing else, he will smell good. The condition of his skin really stinks. Thanks!

All of you who are working in your yards are making me ashamed. I really need to get to it.
