Samhain photos

It was a beautiful night for Samhain, the air was cold, you could see you breath, but, the Moon was big and bright and the fire warmed us. We had hot spiced apple cider too.

Awesome! It was actually mild here in Pa, which unusual (but certainly welcome!)...bit of rain, but not too bad. We ended up bagging the Feeding of the Goblins (a.k.a. Trick-or-treater feeding) only because of finances (we get a LOT of kids every year and we ALWAYS run out of candy in half an hour). Just did cheap grub at Hoss's & a $3.00 antique store purchase. I start my new job tomorrow, and NEXT year, we will do the night up BIG time, with plenty of candy! Have learned my lesson: go to BJ's a month early and stock up!!

I recognize the tall jackolantern from the cake backing pics with Lissa in your kitchen. Always plan ahead LOL

Was all this in your yard? Was it just you and Lissa? Wish I could have been there.

Great pics dd. It looked so warm, festive and peaceful. One question are you allowed to eat the food when your done? Or do you give it to mother nature?

Good question, AM, traditionally, the food is served to everyone at the circle in honor of the dead, and there's an alter for the dead and the foods of the harvest season are offered. At my house, I'm usually alone, and I just offer it all to the spirits. What's odd is that no animal ever bothers the food, even after I go inside. It's strange, but, I've found that to be true everywhere I've lived.

So cool. I wish I had been there, I'm sure many others would have loved to share that moment with you.
