I look foreward to the photos. I think Beth is quite interesting. Vogue isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you think if Beth Ditto, but, the photos there are always amazing. Go for it Beth!

Go Beth! Love her! She makes me feel really good, I'm glad that she's not being forced to barf up her food to get publicity. But I don't really like the whole "strip 'cause I'm fat" thing either.
I have no interest in seeing the photos, but I like Beth for lovin herself...her image I mean.

I do love the Gossips music, but I don't think holding Beth up as some icon for woman is a good thing. Yes, it does suck to open a magazine and see tiny tiny models all the time, and yes, there should be a proper representation of womans bodies in these magazines, but beth isnt a proper representation - shes obese, which is just as unhealthy and just as upsetting(to me) to see. I think people forget thats while some models are anorexic/bulimic/whatever, many are skinny because its naturally their body shape, whilst its obvious that beth wouldnt naturally be that big, shes that big due to her unhealthy life style, and shouldnt be getting praised for it.
She is who she is. If she's comfortable with it..then so be it

Andrew, I don't like her because she makes me feel better about me size. I like her because she's a great singer and I like her band and she seems funny and nice in interviews. The whole stripping on stage thing is pretty gross though.

it's bullshit that her weight is the only thing being discussed-- she didn't get into vogue for being fat, she got in for being talented. beth isn't some crazy lady who eats fried twinkies all day so she can support body image-positivity, she is naturally large and has a good outlook about this. i think her cause isn't obesity, it's about accepting people's bodies, be they fat, thin, transsexual, etc. if the gossip was about obesity, it would be three obese people, not a fat lady, a tranny and a skinny homeless-looking gay guy.
Vogue doesn't give a shit about her whether she is skinny or fat. They put her in there to "stay on top of the cool things." Anna Wintour HATES fat people. I don't think Beth Ditto is comfortable in her body. She would hardly feel the need to expose herself if she was. It would be a non-issue. Fat people make a bigger issue of being fat than most of the world does. No one gives a shit whether you are heavy or whatever.
I personally love that she strips. It goes hand in hand with the hardcore music that she puts out. If you don't like it don't look. She strips cuz she wants to strip. She is sweaty raw and naked on stage. What more could you ask for from a rocker.
