the mcd chick was expecting "someone like britney"
she's like "pffft...vanessa hudgens"
but the one thing I really hate is that these photogs don't seem to have the basic sense of respect and boundaries...they are all in your face, I'd probably be one pissed camper too if it was me being attacked like that, and before someone jumps and plays the "public figure" or "they are asking for it" crap here, in the end reality is those girls just look scared and creeped out.
I don't know, they were enjoying it to start with, laughing so much they couldn't even place their order. It wasn't until the worker more or less got them to pull their fingers out of it and order and treated them like ordinary people that they got pissed off and started sulking. I thought the worker was the real star. The girls need more work, but hey! they are young and probably get far too much attention anyway.
You know I have had my very, very limited 5 seconds of fame. Been in magazines, on TV, in the news, recognized and approached on the street (because of something newsworthy that happened to me). I have also and come out of backstage with a significant rock star and walked through a crowd of fans. I can tell you, its TEMPTING, its ADDICTIVE, and (in spite of my LIMITED experience) I STILL can't BEGIN to understand what it must be like to be a small, young star followed by paps. But I'll bet its just too titillating to resist. You would have to be very strong and very mature resist pulling a stunt that attracts the paps and the attention that gets. It would be about as alluring, attractive and tempting as cocaine.
Thanks, Lia... for telling it like it IS. I've never believed for a minute that whole "Ohhh.. the PAPS ARE CHASING ME!" BS.
It's all about what works for these star-kids "at the moment." Just like with Britney... When she needs 'em, they're her best friends. And when she doesn't, or on those occasions where she's "had enough"... God help them-- she comes out snarling and swearing (and umbrella wielding) with everything she's got.
I love ya' Waterlilly... and generally agree with you-- but I think you've got it wrong this time. While you're 100% right that the paps do NOT have any sense whatsoever of basic respect and/or boundaries-- I didn't think the girls looked scared or creeped out.
They looked "pissy"-- and it only came after the McD gal didn't recognize them. Like Lia pointed out... they were having a great time at the beginning.
I enjoy watching the paps chasing Britney. They always call out to her "Britney, you look beautiful" and she always likes that, its quite transparent. There is one pap in particular with a hispanic accent, he talks to her the most and runs around helping her when he can too. I bet she LOVES him because he gives her so much attention and treats her like a queen telling her she's beautiful and helping her etc. I think the paps give Britney all the love and attenion she craves in her everyday life. It will be a very sad day for her when the paps lose interest in her. Actually compared to Amy Whinehouse who has so much to hide from the press (bloodied battles with syringes and lovers) Britney is quite innocent really. There was only that one episode with the umbrella, and even then her pap boyfriends were there to support her and egg her on.
I can imagine it really is like Lia says. That there is a really strong attraction to that kind of attention.
Normally I think that celebrities get the situation they put themselves in. If you are a private person like Johnny Depp or Meryl Streep you simply won't be in the tabloids and gossip columns all the time while people like Britney, Paris... well, you get my point.
But these girls are so young. It must be really hard to not go down that road when you are that young and still in search of your own identity. I think if I had been put in that kind of situation when I was 18 or 19 I would have also put myself out there. Today I wouldn't.

The photogs should be shot. I feel sorry for the girls. That is just uncalled for!

I KNEW Lia had stories to tell us. I could just tell by her photo. Nice.
