Sam the butcher, Alice's boy friend on the Brady Bunch was actor Allan Melvin. I was surprised when I looked up his resume, it was quite impressive. He was on everything from The Phil Silvers Show to All In The Family and everyone who knew him seemed to like him. He always played second banana (or third or fourth) but, he made a good living at his craft and worked a lot. You have to admire someone like that.

Cancer sucks. It takes so many good people. You'd think in this day and age they'd have a cure. Rest in peace Allan.

i firmly believe there IS a cure for cancer....they won't release it cuz finding a cure for cancer is a multi-billion dollar business....

I loved the guy, he played everything from a heavy to a nice average guy. On The Andy Griffith Show he was usually a heavy, bullying Barney Fife! I love that stuff. I didn't know he was still around tho. Seems like he's been on every TV show ever on TV & thats a long time. We will always have reruns! yay! PS: Is Alice a lez? Even as a kid I used to think she was kinda butch...
