Heath Ledger was cremated. Friends and relatives gathered at Cottesloe Beach, they celebrated his life, played his favorite songs and everyone jumped into the water and watched the sunset. I think it sounds nice.

that was a great tribute to him. I am sure he will be missed by many.
What a great way to celebrate a wonderful guy & his life! Laughter thru tears. They had a very touching tribute to him. Didn't they play "Come Together" by the Beatles at the end of his service? I can barely see to type this..he will be missed always. Michelle looks precious here.
Songs played at the memorial, included “Seven Nation Army” by the White Stripes, “The Times, They are A-Changin’” by Bob Dylan, the Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun” and “Come Together,” and Ben Harper’s “Happily Ever After,” which Harper wrote for Ledger and Williams’ two-year-old daughter Matilda.
DD...that makes me cry. How touching is that? I want cool music played when I die too. Not some horror chamber funeral music. Real music that I loved when I was alive to listen to it!!! the Beatles are at the top of that list BTW!!! & MJ's "Remember The Times"...amazing song. Before he was a freak show! I LOVE that song!!!!
I keep thinking about his answer to an interviewer's question recently re: "death", where he responded that he "didn't fear it anymore because his daughter was here to go on for him. But then again, he didn't want to die because he wanted to be here for her throughout her life."
Anyone who is interested in seeing a beautifully-produced video-montage of Heath/Michelle/Matilda photos over Ben Harper's "Happy Ever After in Your Eyes"

Ben Harper wrote: "Heath Ledger called me up and said, 'Ben, I'm having a baby and you need to write a lullaby for my baby girl'. I obliged and out came 'Happily Ever After in Your Eyes.''
Nicky, thanks for the link to a nicely done tribute. IMO, Michelle seems to be smart, loving, grounded, private, and a great parent to little Matilda; she really does take after her father, who obviously loved her so very much. Heath's passing is tragic, but I think there is a whole lot of love shared between their family and friends that will comfort them and help Matilda grow up in a positive environment.
