Sharon CRONE turned up at an Oscar party sporting a rat paw broach. She claims it's good luck. It wasn't good luck for the rat, whore. I'm sick of the way rats are treated. Anyone who's had a rat knows they're intelligent and adorable. That's a white rat too, which means it was domestic. They're still exploited in experiments and testing and people ignore it. If they were puppies people would go insane. It's not fair and wearing any animal paw is sickening.

Fur and paws only look good on animals. Can't we become a more humane society without giving up meat and hides? Hell yes, we can, but, money making industries are too cheap and lazy to do their part. I hope all the bastards wake up someday in a cage full of pissed off badgers.

Her "true Hollywood Stories" was great. She made up all kinds of things about her past not realizing that her sister would be interviewed as well. Her sister denied all the crazy crap she claimed. Sharon tries so hard to stay relevant, I think she adopted just to stay in the tabloids.
People who choose fur, etc to wear, are ignorant about the life/death of the animals who provided it.
I won't buy regular eggs because I can't stand to think I've contributed to the way chickens are treated, so I buy only free-range from brands I've checked out (local). Once you start thinking about it, you can't deliberately impose your selfishness on innocent critters.
And DD, I don't feel sorry for Peta picking on the Olsens- what a couple of self-centered twats they are, I just scroll past their news, they're so irrelevant.
Olsens? Whats that? I hear ya'! I think 1 of them was working at 9-11 tho at one time. Anyway, this rat paw is in such bad, horrid taste I cannot even speak it. She did it to be in the news & to get her "pichur took"! She loves pissing off PETA & all those types, it makes the gossip pages, right? So, it works.

That is soooooo wrong. I am a carnivore, but I am on the verge of giving up meat and animal byproducts (leather, etc..), because it makes me sick to my stomach the way industrialized farm animals are treated. Have you seen the footage of that cattle farm in California where they abused sick cows? Using forklifts to move them around? That footage about did it for me, and there's been a huge beef recall this past couple of weeks because of that. But didn't "happy cows come from california?"
Now, I know hubby is not giving up his beef....so I'm on the hunt for locally grown-family raised beef and poultry.....I wanna make sure that the animal I feed my husband has had at least a dignified life and death....
I am all for my own survival, but, not at the expense of other living beings treated with cruelty.
So right, I had two pet rats when I was a kid, and they were just the sweetest friendliest things! What a bitch!
I'm with everyone basically. I don't often post but this one I couldn't resist. I want there to be a time when animal cruelty is stopped. Sheesh, I can't even raise my voice at my cats, one of which is asleep right now on my desk in front of my monitor.
I don't eat meat, chicken or fish. I also only buy free range eggs and they come from a farm I know, same with the milk I drink.
People think rats are so disposable. They are amazing animals..very sweet and intelligent. Put most humans to shame. I always give lines to people who attack my views. Lines like "What if human skin was the 'in' thing, would that frighten you". "You say there are too many animals on the earth? What about humans, they overpopulate and destroy, should be start hunting them." People are left speechless but I don't care. I will report and have anything to say to anyone who hurt animals. Children and animals to me are amazing miracles and they should all be protected.

the rat paw brooch is repulsive. but i still think rats and other animals are important in medical research. they are certainly used too often, but i have personally seen drugs with terrible side effects (like causing kidney cancer) not make it to the market because they were tested on rats first. those rats saved people's lives, it's important to realize and respect that. and dogs are also used in pharmaceutical testing. i think it's currently a necessary evil, one that hopefully we'll find a more humane replacement to soon.
i don't think it is necessary any longer to use live animals for scientific experiments. i think a lot of what has been discovered from live animal experiments is now computerised and tests can be based on those findings. laboratories use animals because they want to assert their right to, in the same way that japanese whalers slaughter whales for 'scientific purposes' or say that eating whales is part of their culture. most people in japan have never eaten whale and don't really care if they never eat it. i don't know why these people persist in being cruel to animals. one thing is for sure, if they treat animals that way they treat people that way too. pray for stones adopted kids i'll bet she gives them hell.
