Does anyone else think this is stupid?

Seems to me that if you're a 40 year old woman who has trouble getting pregnant and a history of miscarriages, and you finally get what you want..maybe you could skip the gym. I'm no doctor, but, this seems stupid to me. I'd like to think Nicole Kidman isn't stupid, that maybe there's someone in celeb land who's not an idiot, but, it makes me wonder. Would it kill her to sit on her ass for a few months letting the kid gestate?

she is not really pregnant

i agree DD! right after it was 'announced' she was seen playing tennis!

it's like she WANTS a miscarriage or something....she's nuts...

I'm beginning to wonder about that myself. It *doesn't* make sense that she's working out. There are a LOT of alternatives, including pre-natal yoga.

Even if Nic is the most ignorant bitch going--- wouldn't hubby intervene? It's his kid too.

Something's not right here.

I think she would be going at it quite vigorously too. She is obsessed about her weight, she is a Hollywood star ya' know! Gotta stay skinny, even when you are pregnant! Exercise is OK while preg, but she probably is not doing anything light as per her uniform. She's planning on sweating. ALOT!

I'm not a Nicole fan, but she could be going to pre-natal yoga or something, you just don't know by what she is wearing in these pics. Plus, it is ok to work out when your preggo-she could just be walking on the treadmill or something. Anon 11.22-she may not be! lol.

ya, she has had so much trouble getting knocked up, that i would be afraid to sneeze, let alone running around. I don't picture her as the type that has trouble keeping the wieght off, so what the hell?
And why isn't her damn bump growing? Shit look at Tori already! Geez

oh come one people. A little bit of sport does not hurt. Once the evolving parasite has found its place, sports in a healthy dose won't kill it.

Smoking, alcohol, genetical defects, radiation, toxins in food and medicine, stress, are much more likely to kill it.

If she has bad genes, no sport won't help her.

Her BAD BAD ginga genes

I tend to agree that sports won't hurt her in any way. They say it is suppose to be good for your your joints and muscles and they also say if you were doing it before you got pregnant, not to stop.

This being said, I think it would depend on the sport - sky diving, skiing I would question, but light sports are ok and won't cause you to have a miscarriage, if so look at all the people that get pregnant and don't want the child and try and misscarry - it isn't an easy task to achieve.

I do think she needs her strength though because having a child later on in life, you do tend to tire more quickly so I would think if she could relax a bit now, why not do it.

Am i the only one who thinks her head looks like its been darn near shaved @ short short hair. Doesnt look like its just pulled back on the sides to me, if it is she has super thin hair.

My doctor told me you could do whatever you were doing before you got pregnant, just don't start anything new. I ran until I was over 7 months pregnant. It became hard when my belly protruded out over my knees. My boobs already weighed 10lbs a piece, and I felt as if I were going to tip over. If your body is accustomed to it, then it is not strenuous.
And no. I did not "TIPTOE MY ASS AROUND," but I did eat a healthy diet, per usual (minus the vino), and my baby weighed 9lbs. I only gained 23lbs. We were both perfectly healthy.

Its pretty ridiculous to make such a judgment call. Women who sit on their asses end up getting toxemia, lose muscle tone, have a harder time pushing when they are out of shape doing nothing. Its proven that women that keep in shape and do cardio have healthier babies because of the good blood flow, mothers digestive system flows better as well which provides quicker nutrients to the baby via the cord.

Just because you have a difficult time conceiving doesn't mean there is something wrong with your uterus, placenta, cervix, etc...its a completely different ball park.

Its fairly stupid how many of the readers follow with sheep like comments, "baaaaah baaaahhhhh, yes DD you're so right baaaahhhh bahhhh"

Well bally for hoo. One backwater doctor's opinion doesn't count for all that much in the real world.

I live right down the block from the LA gym where Nicole's been taking her insanely-intense workouts. She's in there almost every single day-- literally cross-training her ass off-- at a pace that would leave a pro athlete gasping for breath.

There's no way any medical doctor would approve her routine--- even if she did maintain that level previously-- which I understand, she did not.

As crazy as Anna Nicole Smith was ("I want my baby to be sexy-skinny!")-- it's obvious Nicole Kidman has serious pregnancy-related, body image issues that are threatening her child's life.

"fairly stupid?" as opposed to... "unfairly"?

Dorothy Parker, you're not. So just go fuck yourself.

Oh yeah y'all... teh backwaters of London and suburban Maryland! Oh Shucks! I done forgetted myself there! Tehey don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' babies and whatnot. Teh Thames and teh Potomac tehey's teh backwaters.

All that do what you normally do only applies to women who have been healthy and havent had 2 decades of problems getting pregnant and then miscarring when she did.

And i hate to break it to 4:36 but extreme exercise, extreme anything when your pregnant CAN affect both mother and child especially this early on. And its a common thing for high risk pregnancies to be on complete bed rest in the 1st and 3rd trimester.

I dont think she needs to sit on her backside but she should be exercising some common sense.

I ask a question..I didn't ask anyone to "follow' me, anon. Geez.

Bright Star 5:09:00

I didn't mean "fairly" as in "equal"

...did you know words can be used in different contexts???

Look at you declaring I'm not Dorothy Parker!!! Insane put down, you my fucktard are one dull knife :p

To clarify, I'm not supportive of "extreme" exercise at anytime. A bit of walking and swimming does wonders for the circulation :)

I hate fools like Bright Star, thinking she's all high & mighty using her College words like "brayed" or maybe she's a fucking old ass hag 'cause who gives a fuck about Dorothy Parker, STOP reading celebrity gossip and go abort yourself.

Aw just playing I don't like hurting anyones feelings, its okay Dorothy Parker fan, its okay...kiss, hug, kick...

funny how 'ANONS' can be ehe DD? lol.

To the anon

I thought this is what this is all about - putting comments, debating, conversing. Perhaps we agree with what DD puts because DD is a clever, well rounded, knowledgable person and she isn't afraid to ask a question and find out what others think. It is called be mature and learning.

everyone has an opinion. how about stating it without getting all nasty about it!

i exercised while i was pregnant. But I also did pregnancey workouts not my regular ones.

that worked for me.

i guess we all have to decide for ourselves what is best for our bodies & the child we are carrying at the time.
