Miss Tia, how do you like this one? It's my wallpaper right now, unfortunately, I don't remember where it was, and there were no inside photos. It's abandoned..probably because of the heat bill rather than ghosties. Pretty, huu? No real foundation to speak of, but, I'd just sleep upstairs where the evil crickets couldn't find me. I am not afraid of ghosts or heat bills...just don't even let me see a cricket.

omg that is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!!!
let's find it and get squatter's rights if it's abandoned!!!
thanks for the post!!! now i can dream about what the inside looks like and what i'd do with the place!!! :)
We can be roomies!!!
Can you just imagine the grand parties that once were had there? & what a grand place the house & gardens were? & who must have visited? Heads of state? Does Stephen King live there? & you know when that was built there was no such thing as a furnace. Maybe steam heat (Get Jay back here!) but no central heating systems, fireplaces is probably about it. And lots of them! Gorgeous ones!!! I can only imagine the woodworking and trim inside & the winding grand staircases! & It looks to be in pretty good shape too, needs paint and it is strange how it just sits right flat on the ground, must be out west somewhere where it doesn't flood? How many rooms? Looks like a bunch. Miss Tia needs let loose with her paints on that.
Yes! A real painted lady..Miss Tia could figure that out. I could do the landscaping.
from the architecture it looks southern gothic...and those windows where you can walk out are a southern staple....perhaps tennesse, virginia?
there's PLENTY of room to be roomies DD!!! we'd pass each in the hall every week or so!! :)
i think it would look good a pale pink with blood red trim....or perhaps a peach? something soft and then something harsh for the trim as a contrast....
isn't there some program or service on google? or some site where you can upload a pix and it'll search to see if there's others like it??? that might be a way to figure out where this is....
i bet there's mosiacs inside by the fireplaces....there MIGHT be a coal furnace....but if it's down south, no, just fireplaces....
if i win the lottery i'd buy THIS house!!! it could be DD headquarters!!!
Ohhhhhhhh southern AND gothic. I've always wanted a southern garden. I kin smell the magnolias now and see the moss hanging. Who making the mint julips? OH, OH..I'll bet we could entice Jason and Grant there to ghost hunt. Yummier than mint julips!
mint juleps on the veranda at 5pm before dinner!! sounds good to me!!!
let's go! :)
"it ain't fittin', it just ain't fittin'..." you ain't got no mo' manners than a field hand!"
Gawd! I wanna live there too and have a big nanny to take care of me!!!
i think this is in the east, maybe the Carolinas? Virginia? Maybe a bit more north even. Somebody find out. K? K!
OMG that is an awesome house..I love it! I want that house!
Anyone want to go in on the mortgage with me..and we'll get rid of the crickets..
Eliza :)
absolutely gorgeous! thanks for the pic :)
What a place that must have been in its heyday. I love it!
hmmm..i really am intriqued by this house....can you remember anything about the type of search you did DD?? "old mansions" or was it for sale?? i'll do the searching, i just need a clue....
i canNOT find the photo finding site, i've read about that before, there's some place you can submit a photo and it'll scan to see if there's something similar, does anyone know about that???
