Jon and Kate plus 8

Anyone else watch this? Jon and Kate had twin daughters then tried for another baby and got six. Eight kids, now 6 and 3 years old. I love them all, the parents are real parents who love their kids and try to do right by them, but, don't even pretend that they don't almost lose their minds at times. The kids are the sweetest most adorable babies..who are also real. They get mad, have melt downs, fight and then make you laugh. Great reality show, they entertain me.

All those kids do is cry and whine the WHOLE show. Kate isn't much better.

I don't think they're whiners at all, there's just so many of them it seems that way. Kate is funny.

I like the family. So does anyone know this...do these families get paid by TLS or what? They go on alot of vaca's etc. Who pays for them? They have the Little People Big World show too. I just wonder. The little people have certainly come-up of late tho. They ain't po'. So if anybody knows how this stuff works would you please tell the rest of us? Thx.

i do believe that tlc pays these people to do the shows. alot of jon & kate's vacations were donated to them. the one when they went skiing, all the coats were donated to them. they get all kinds of stuff like that. the disney trip was also complementary. if you watch them, you will hear them say about how much they appreciate the pople doing things for them. on little people, they also get some kind of disability payments for life i think.
i like these kind of reality shows better than regular reality tv. the ones on tlc are more real & you actually learn stuff. i do like hells kitchen & big brother but there is no comparison between them & the tlc shows.

Of course they're paid! Geeminy! Kate had to quit her job to take care of 8 kids. Now she has a vid diary of them growing up and another income. I don't blame her a bit.

I love that show, it reminds me how easy (incredibly easy) I have it with one five year old daughter and a husband who has no problem with me being a stay-at-home mom to her.

Kids crying and whining? Go figure. Mine never does that... except, occasionally, when she has to get up, go to school, do her homework, take her bath, go to bed... and no I never "whine" at her to do any of those things. It's a perfect charmed life. Just like on TV. In the 1950's.

So what's up with Jon and Kate's parents? Why are they never on the show? I read somewhere that Kate doesn't have a relationship with her parents but it didn't say why not. Do those grandparents realize what they are missing? And how sad for those cute kids to have no grandparents.

we should all think twice before criticizing these parents, in particular, kate, who by ALL accounts, is an excellent mother and homemaker. we can all learn alesson or two from her. and is she bitchy? perhaps at times she is, but aren't we all at one point or another. i admire her strength and patience and most of all, choosing to have all six children. she is a fighter, a doer, a survivor. and it is obvious jon is not only there for just the kids. he clearly loves her. she is simply super organized and controlling, but the situation warrants it. God bless them.

I love the show. I believe that we are getting to look at the stresses of a 10 person family. All this talk about them having a nanny and cook and assistants, well of course they do they have 8 kids. I also don't think they are portraying theirselves as poor. Never have I looked at them and thought they were underprivliged. I would expect them to get paid for doing the show. The Kardashians do I'm sure the Lohans do, so why is it such a suprise that the Goshelins do. They should. And if Kate doesn't want Aunt Jodie to get paid that's her perogative.

I totally love Jon and Kate and their kids and enjoy "looking in" on their daily lives. I know Jon and Kate needle each other but you can tell how much love is there. They are truly a good match. All the shows are "real" and I thought the "Bumper Bus" was extremely good for the kids. I hope Jon and Kate know how much we love to watch them and the kids.

I liked the show at first. They seemed real and down to earth. I gave them alot of credit for letting the cameras see them fighting and making mistakes. I have seven kids of my own and I felt like I could relate. Unfortunately lately between the hairplugs and all the vacations the show has gotten a bit annoying.

I found out lately that the more kids you have, the more help you get. Like Michelle Duggar she has 18 kids and each of the older kids takes care of a little one. She takes care of the baby until he or she is weaned, then passes it on to a "buddy." So it's the older kids who are practically raising and tending to the kids. Michelle is the delegator.

As for Kate, she has help come every week. I think Kate said she does the laundry, someone comes over to fold it, someone comes over to put it away and someone comes over to iron. THey don't pay for a lot of stuff they have because it's all donated. She might mention she needs something on the show and within a few days or so, it shows up on their doorstep.

Don't be fooled by people who have a lot of kids. They get lots of help. I'm sure they go crazy, who wouldn't. But someone who has a few kids, basically does the same amount of work, if not more, because you do everything yourself. But I am not going to feel like less of a mom, when I have two kids and do everything myself than having a 35 kids running around but having other people do stuff for me. Just needed to get that off my chest. So I hope people who have just one child or two or three, don't feel like they have it easy, compared to people who have so many.

well I have a comment , and I am from the area Jon and Kate live in and it is like a circus around them , and it is NOT all what you see on TV , my mother was one of 10 with my grandparents that made 12 they lived in a 2 family home and the other family had 14 and NO ONE helped them , and back then the STATE did not kick in benefits and they paid for EVERYTHING they had cause both parents worked . The show is starting to get a bit over whelming and I think it is time for a new show ! No one tells any one couple or woman how many kids to have and if it ends up that you have more than you expected then buckle up for the ride and take care of them yourself .
