I was interrupted in my Sunday blogging by a call from my "little" brother. He said he didn't feel good and had a belly ache. If you know my brother, he just doesn't call for something like that. He didn't know what was happening, but, after all that's happened in my family recently, I panicked. I drove right over and got him and made him go to the emergency room even though he kept saying it was just a belly ache. Turned out it was severe pancreatitis and the doctor told me it was serious. The worst case the doctor had ever seen. If he'd farked around any longer it would have been fatal. He's due for surgery as soon as they can get him prepped. He was getting all loopy, so I came on home. Sigh. For once I did the right thing and didn't listen to him protest. They assure me he's going to be fine soon. But, after what we've been through these last few weeks, I can only try and believe them. Can you blame me? Oh, it is NOT alcoholic pancreatitis..my brother doesn't drink at all. Anyway, I will be back tomorrow. I'm going to the hospital again to see if he wants anything or if he can figure out how to turn on his TV. Heh..you have to know him to understand that. He's no techno wizard. He was lucid enough to remark that they had some damn good looking nurses. Geez, Bobby, almost dead and he can still notice boobs. Figures.
Update: He's feeling better. I'll blog more about him Sunday. Some people say my brother is "special", but, I know he's just different. He's a sweet person. Maybe I'll put his photo on, he'd like that.

Sending positive thoughts and energy to your brother! (and you!:)
Will be thinking of you guys! Luckily it was caught in time : )
stress+coffein or stress+coffein+smoking can also cause this suckers. You don't need alcohol for that :(
I hope he gets well. A cousin of mine had two already (he drinks but not much - still his pancreas is hypersensitive..) it sucks.
oh cool. The hand washing is more for your protection ;)
hm.. something else?
Oh yes, never pull the tail, grab her by it or hold er up by it. It is easily brocken. If you have to catch her fast in case of emergency a towel thrown over her is much more effective - and pretty much risk free.
You must be starting to feel like it's never going to end. Wish Bobby the best of luck, and get yourself some rest.

Glad you acted quickly DD. Everything happens for a reason and right now your more aware of things and good for you for insisting on having things checked out.
Hope all is ok with him and that the surgery is ok. Let us know.
