LOS ANGELES, May 15 (UPI) -- A spokesman for Shania Twain has confirmed the country music star and her husband are breaking up."Shania Twain and husband, music producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage," Twain's representative Jason Owen said in a statement issued to People magazine."This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time."*
Shania and Mutt have one child, a son named Eja D'Angelo who is six. I got a Shania Twain album at a joke gift party once. The joke was on them because I kind of liked it. Keep your chin up, Shania.

She's weird & not very nice to her family. I've read some things that made me feel so bad for her siblings. She's a bitch to them. Makes them pay to see her in concert & won't see them afterwards! And they are just regular people, not rich, at all. She doesn't help them out either. Stuff like that. I do not like this bitch. Mutt is legend tho. Hope he can rebound & do better.

I don't believe she makes her family pay to see her, that's ridiculous. She became so extremely rich and famous and popular that she's a target for all kinds of crazy gossip.
She looked after her sibs when her parents died and the stress might have been too much for most people but she pulled them through.
She probably has faults like the rest of us, but I think she's great.
All it takes to get a bad reputation is to have some personal boundaries about what you will and won't tolerate. Just being famous and rich doesn't remove your personal needs, so you still have to deal with your anxieties and tiredness, etc.

Nope, I read it too in an interview years ago that her bro gave. I believe it. She's such a snatch. He was nice about her tho & was so proud of her yadda-yadda. But he did have to buy his own ticket to get in, they all had to. She treated them, at that time anyway, like strangers. Maybe she came around later.

7:15 i don't know where you read that but her generosity is well known in Canada, within her community and with her stepsiblings.
She had nothing financially speaking when her parents died but a shack where you had to cut wood for heat and cookstove with pile of bills and her stepsiblings to care for. She could have turned them over to foster care but choose not to so they could remain a family. She's raised and educated them, and after 'making it' gotten them in homes, cars and jobs.
Sad to hear that they've seperated. DD do you know if either or both of them are going to move back to north america?

I talked to a girl who had dated Shania's younger brother (after Shania made it big), and she said that Shania spoiled him way past what was good for him (expensive wheels etc.)and that he just lived off his sister. I'm curious what ever happened to him since...whether he's working like a regular guy or still lives on an allowance.
That's right...she was adopted. So in a way she lost her parents twice. She also postponed her singing for a few years to raise her stepsiblings. Guess she's done the best she can.
I hope she moves back to the US and gets back to her music.
it took some digging...this was gossip in 2000!!! (i have an EXCELLENT memory for most things!!!)....but in 2000, it came out that she & her husband had joined the "sant mat" cult...her brother was quoted in the media stories that she was turning into a robot by this cult....
the cult promoted chastity, so consider her kid is 6, i think she might have gotten out of the group....
