Reader Lisa sent this pic of her super cute dog, Poppy. She says.."My dog Poppy is still recovering from his surgery. The bandages and sutures are gone now. He is still limping a little but the vet says that is to be expected. He doesn't seem to be in any pain though and tries to play alot. He is a regular pill poppin druggie now! My own lil' Amy Winehouse. He knows when his meds are due (wrapped in Kraft cheese) and comes runnin."*
Awwww, that pic makes me sad. Poor puppy. I laughed at calling him Amy though. Thanks for the photo of the sunset on Sarasota Bay, Lisa! I love how that sounds on my tounge..Sarrr-a-ssssota Bay. Oh, yeah. Sigh, how I wish I was there.

what happened to Poppy?? I should send in a pix of Maple who has a broken arm (maple=cat)....it hasn't heeled after 3 months so it's still in a cast til i can get it removed next month---then i'll have a tri-pod cat!!!
BEAUTIFUL SUNSET!!!
Aww, get well soon little cutie pie!
Oh poor little Poppie, what happened to her to put her in this condition? Glad to see she's on the mend.

What a sad little face!

Aw. Thanks.
Poppy is 2 and 1/2 years old and has had problems with that particular hind leg off and on since he was a puppy. Unfortunately, it just kept getting worse despite joint supplements/ special diet/ and anti-inflammatory meds from time to time. Eventually, the poor guy became lame. The vet thought maybe it was a torn ligament versus a shallow knee cap and recommended surgery. Turned out that the groove for his knee cap was too shallow so (this may sound a little gross) the surgeon basically carved out a deeper space for his knee cap. He's actually doing pretty well. and hopefully this will take care of it (fingers X'd). he is the best dog (not to mention the most expensive) that I've ever had.
Misstia- Sorry to hear that Maple is taking longer to heal that expected. Hope she can have the cast removed next month so she can climb some trees! :)
P.S. DD- open invitation for you and Lissa to visit anytime you want! (you may want to consider after hurricaine season is over though, w/ all you've been through this season just in case. :) )
thanks! maple & i BOTH want that cast off! But it's gotta stay on til i finish my 'take off maple's arm' fundraiser! :) poor girl...but she's done really well walking around with a cast (it's her front arm) and the dr. said she'd be fine without the arm...
sorry poppy had to go thru all this! he's lucky to have the family who'd make sure he got taken care of! i bet that was expensive! poppy is very lucky and i know you are too to have such a cute little lovey like him!
Aww baby Poppy! I 'wubba him! Kisses to his 'widdo footy!
Easily one of the most precious pet pix I've ever seen.
What a FACE.
Get well soon, Poppy. You're a darlin'.
