The Jonas brothers love Guitar Hero..Kevin, 20, exclaimed, “Guitar Hero is a necessity for us! I totally understand John Mayer’s perspective but for me I think it’s a great way to introduce the idea of an instrument to a generation of a young age. Maybe you would go on from there and transition into actually learning how to play and things like that. I’m the Guitar Hero guru of the Jonas Brothers!”

John Mayer is not mean about the game, but, thinks real guitars are better..“I don’t ever want to be the kind of guy who rails against whatever progress has taken place. But Guitar Hero was devised to bring the guitar-playing experience to the masses without them having to put anything into it. And having done both, there’s nothing like really playing guitar. I mean, what would you rather drive, a Ferrari or one of those amusement-park cars on a track?”

I couldn't give a shit less. I prefer to put the time into the real thing, but, not everyone has an interest in the real thing. But, it does seem kind of strange that everyone's buying Guitar Hero instead of a guitar. But, as for these people..I've never seen the Jonas boys play anything but their tween audience while JM is an accomplished musician. Who spent their time better? Now, if you'll excuse me, I don't own a Ferrari, but, Drift And Burn is fun and Redline Rumble.

well certainly Guitar Hero and Rock Band are 2 games that are taking the world by surprise. It could be the cost - they are both under $150 why it might appeal to some parent. Not sure but I know my son has both and he loves them.
In case you don't know - Guitar Hero is basically a guitar - rock band came out shortly after and is a guitar, drums & and microphone for singing. (drums are hard to play but he can get through a song with them - I can't but he prefers the guitar)
My son and I have a "band" lol - he plays guitar, I sing - it is a hoot DD. You get rated and cheered and boo'ed and if really bad, get thrown out and have to try again lol.
You get "money" and "fans" if you do good and you can go on longer tours depending on your status. I use the money to change my outfit I am wearing lol.
I like it because it give my son and I some time together having fun.

I get it. :) We just like the real thing around here because we like pissing off the neighbors.
I like Guitar Hero. It's a fun party game, that's for sure! I guess it would be really sad if everyone in the world forgot how to play real guitars and only knew how to play that video game controller, but...it's just a game!
That said, I would put my controller down and never look at it again if John Mayer asked me to personally. Doesn't Jebbica and John sound better than Jennifer and John anyway? ;)
