Kids in the hood

Lissa and her friend, Drey having a good squirt gun fight yesterday. Her birthday is tomarrow so I got her a big bag full of squirt guns (which she calls "soot guns) and bubbles and we shared with the neighborhood kids. They had a blast. Lis and Drey are hardcore and outlasted everyone else. Both soaking wet and giggling, they really had a great time. Drey's real name is something I can't even type, it's like Dreyeffetto Lafette Riccotta Something Something Dubois. I just call him Doctor Drey. He has 6 brothers and a sister. The brothers all look alike, the sister looks like Lissa with red hair and pale complextion. Her name is something like Drikenetti Shaniqua Debequia Lafette Dubois. No one watches them. I like Drey, he plays good with Lissa, he's intelligent and charming, but, you have to watch him all the time. He's a little sneaky..okay, a lot sneaky. I'm lucky he didn't talk me out of my camera. The Dubois boys like to play a game called "coke dealer" as in "I got the mofo cocaine." "No, you got dat cut shit cocaine, I got de real cocaine." And they wonder why Lissa isn't allowed out alone. They sure were cute yesterday though.

That's a lovely picture DD, but so sad when you describe the coke-dealer game. Gives me the shivers to think that some poor children have to grow up like this. Just so damned wrong.

gee, how/why do kids know about 'dealing coke'?? scary and sad!

i feel bad for those kids...it's good you and Lissa are showing them some 'non-drug' good times!

I'm sure they hear that at home. I correct thier grammer, like, "its not you aint got no mofo cocaine, guys, it's you don't have any mofo cocaine." I'm a regular scout leader.

Nothing says summer fun like a good, old-fashioned squirt gun fight on the lawn!

(those of you who feel squirt guns are a bad idea because they're "damaging to kids/too similar to an actual weapon" can BITE me.)

Gorge photo, Dish... a real treasure!

sadly, that picture could be taken ten years later in any city USA and it would represent real life. Anyone who disgarees needs to watch First 48 on A&E. Saddest circumstances one can imagine, to see life expire over nothing.
