MAgazines fall over each other to kiss Hollywood ass. Sir Ben Kingsley had a good point this last week when he said that actors and actresses in Hollywood have less talent than ever before. If they look good on print then they get a movie right away. Look at the reality TV people trying to sing and act. Audrina, Alli, Paris Hilton etc. The expectations are high and seldom achieved. Eva Mendes looked alright in Training Day, but I wouldn't call her hot. She's from El Salvador, and my buddies maid looks a lot like her.
So, anon 8:59, you think Eva Mendes looked "alright" in Training Day?
She was hot as HELL in that film. But far more importantly, she's an outstanding actor with several feature roles to her credit.
But what really proves you're an asshole beyond redemption is the fact that you're obviously a racist. You implied that because "she's from El Salvador" and your "buddies maid looks a lot like her", that she's not worthy of doing feature films. In the context of your post, the racist connotation is clear.
Eva Mendes is not even FROM El Salvador, you asswipe. She was born in Los Angeles-- from Cuban/American parents.
I'd be willing to bet green money you're a fat, bald, pimply-ass waste of space who would never get anywhere *near* a woman of her caliber...
Oh, that was unfair. You probably *could* get near her... but you'd be outside her house, picking up her dog's droppings.
I was born in El Salvador while my Dad was stationed there and lived in the country for six years. Since then I have returned as a contractor for American agricultural companies with interests in the region. Eva did look "all-right" in Training Day, and she does look like a a lot of the domestic help in Central America. Oh! she's of Cuban descent. Well, in that case she looks a lot like the dozens of prostitutes that hang out in front of hotels in Habana. That is a fact from someone who has been there. I saw nothing racist with the comments, in El Salvador you have Salvadoran maids. The fact that the post was mistaken with regards to her ethnicity does not prove prejudiced, just lack of google ability.
