Chicago police have found the body of a 7-year-old African American boy in a 1994 white Chevy Suburban. The license plate is registered to Jason Hudson, Jennifer Hudson's murdered brother. Authorities are assuming the body is her missing nephew, Julian King.

Sad news obviously. Children bear the brunt of tragedy too often these days. However, this kind of thing happens so often in African American neighborhoods, and never gets reported. The culprit will get a fancy pants lawyer and get out in a couple of years, blame the system and "get rich or die trying". My sympathies Jennifer for the loss of your loved ones.
I can't seem to move on today, posting is lame. Julian has been on my mind since his disappearance and...it's so sad. Poor little guy.

A car? Kids have been shot & killed right on the street just for their damn shoes! Sadly, yes, it usually is poor black young men. But all they know is violence. I have been upset all weekend too, just hoping he was found alive. They said on the news that Chicago is the most violent city in the USA. Why did they live in the ghetto? She could have moved them out of there, esp if they were in fear of their lives. But I know, it's hard to get people to move & change their lives. Maybe she did try.
Did anyone else see the neighborhood that Obama's grandmother lives in in Hawaii? It looks like a ghetto as well. Sometimes people just would rather stay in their own homes than change. Old poeple don't care about appearances anyway.
from what i read, her mom didn't want to upgrade neighborhoods because she had lived there for so long...in a way i can understand that...
re: hawaii ghetto---many hawaiians, especially natives, live in 'ghetto' areas....
lebron james and his mom moved to much wealthier neighborhoods in akron, but his mom still hangs out in the projects where she lived before....
chicago has been having a lot of problems with it's police force and i read somewhere recently that some officers aren't pleased with who is in charge of them....
there needs to be more of an effort in schools and in homes to divert kids away from gangs, thug life, crime, etc....white or black, this is a serious problem....

When I brought up my yahoo page and it has the headlines with this news, I was devistated, it just ruined my day thinking of the tragedy that seems to be unfolding again for this family.
And of course how can your heart not go out to a poor little 7 year old boy and how frightened he must have been - whether this is Julian or not, it is still a 7 year old little boy.
People as they get older, they feel comfort in their familiar surroundings, so I can understand totally why the mom wanted to stay put.

I want Casey Anthony to get the lethal injection she so richly deserves. I don't want any FL tax payer money to go toward housing her for the next 25 to life. God willing they will find the little girl's body soon.

The fact that Jennifer Hudson's family lived in what has been referred to as a "ghetto" had absolutely nothing to do with this case.
This was a domestic dispute... NOT random street violence. An estranged couple had an argument (apparently over the sale of a car) and it wouldn't have mattered whether they lived in a tenement or a Beverly Hills mansion! It's just ignorant to believe otherwise.
Poor, innocent Julian... WTF was the point of taking his life too?
