Bettie Page passed away yesterday at the age of 85. There are so many images of Bettie I had a hard time picking a couple. The notorious Ms. Page was born Nashville, Tennessee on April 22, 1923, and made a name for herself in the modeling business. She's the most famous pin-up girl in the world with her trademark bangs. She was also the first famous bondage model and though scandalous at the time, the images seem tame and cute now. Bettie was the January 1955 Playmate of the month, chosen when Hefner saw her pinup photos..the magazine was only two years old back then. In 1955, Bettie won the title "Miss Pinup Girl of the World." She also became known as "The Queen of Curves" and "The Dark Angel." Rest in peace, Bettie, you will be missed and we will enjoy your photos for years to come. You were so cute!

DD, we loved Bettie too! Have you ever seen the more recent bio-pic about her? It was sad.
I haven't seen it. I heard she got reclusive and didn't like having her picture taken.
Sometimes HotTopic has cool tees with her old pin up pics on them. I'm sure they will be doing a new one now. :(
And yeah, when that movie came out she would only be filmed in silloutte and she wouldn't allow pics of herself, thats true. I can only imagine that she didn't want anyone to be disappointd in how she looked at an old age. She wanted to remain eternally young & beautiful. I can dig it.

i remember watching the e hollywood true story and she gave an interview at the end of it and refused to have her face shown....she said that she did not want to disappoint her fans and wanted them to remember her as she looked in her heyday...
there are some somewhat recent pix of her online though with hugh hefner...her hair was still cut the same way and her eyes still sparkled....
just looked up the hugh heffner w betty page photo. it was taken when she was 80 and boy! she still had it then. check it out. she makes the attempts at being sexy by the likes of jennifer anniston, maddonna, pamela anderson, paris hilton, and all the other celebrity skanks look sooo fuckin sad and pathetic.
