WTF is up with the Lohan girls and Barbie this week? Ali's black vinyl clutch is reminiscent of the original black vinyl Barbie case. Is it just me??

OMG! DD...do you mean the big patent trunks that had the closet design inside and you stood it up on end & it was a clothes trunk with a hanging rod & drawers? I never got one. But some of my freidns had them, back in the old days. It was a huge deal to have an actual logo Barbie trunk, like all my freinds that had them just had to be rich, ya' now? Her purse also looks like Barbies actual tiny little clutch too. But gotta love the patent Barbie stuff. Gawd, does anybody play with Barbies anymore? My daughter did, and the American Girls Dolls. She will be 23 soon. I think she may have been the last generation to play with dolls. I'm not joking. She played dolls till she was about 10 or 11, same as me. Girls don't now, they are too busy dressing up "hot" for the boys at school and calling each other & texting on their cell phones! Kids are just small adults nowdays. *sigh* DD, thanks for the memories. XO
That Barbie is from what? 1965? Earlier probably. 1963? I wish I had a pictorial history of Barbie coffee table book. I have seen it but it's expensive. The pics are fab.

I have the pictured doll. And the black case. And the Midge, wig Barbie, Skipper, etc. ect. Barbie premiered in 1959 at the worlds fair.
