Same-sex marriages began in Massachusetts in May 2004 and in Connecticut last November.

California is an odd place...on one hand, we have the People's Republic of San Francisco, where anything at all goes, and then there's this weird, pseudo-quasi-religious right side that fights anything REMOTELY sensible. I lived in SD for a long time and now SF. They are like different countries for sure. I like SD much better personally, even though there are more religious zealots there.

yay Iowa, and it's completely messed up that CA frckn overturned theirs. I know it's already been said here but I'm saying it again anyway, bcos I can. This was supposedly the black & Hispanic vote in CA for prop 10 which was responsible. I do not get it. I wish ppl would support other folks' civil liberties but it didn't work out that way.
And I'm proud to live in MA.
And we also have many many gay divorces already. We have lots of folks with professional degrees who live to argue.
