We're not so backwards anymore

Until Friday, only states in the Northeast and bordering the Pacific had granted broad legal recognition to same-sex unions, but that changed with the Iowa Supreme Court ruling ordering that gay and lesbian couples be allowed to wed.

Before the Iowa ruling, only Connecticut and Massachusetts allowed same-sex couples to marry — also as a result of decisions by the states' high courts. Same-sex marriages began in Massachusetts in May 2004 and in Connecticut last November.

Do you know what this means?? It means we don't have to wait for deer hunting season to see some real celebs around here.

I'm all for gay marriage...why should us heteros be the only ones to suffer?

I now pronounce you...uh...party A and party B...

That's what I always say. Gays have the right to be miserable too.

It's called same sax marriage because when you get married all the sex is the same.

GOOD...Who the frig ever gave the Gov a right to say who could or couldn't fall in love and get married anyway...Oh that's right, the tight assed church people. May they all rot in hell!

Kudos to Iowa. I am still in shock that California of all places fucked it up.

California is an odd place...on one hand, we have the People's Republic of San Francisco, where anything at all goes, and then there's this weird, pseudo-quasi-religious right side that fights anything REMOTELY sensible. We elect the Governator, and then turn folks like Pelosi loose on the rest of the country. Waitress?? Another round please, and make them doubles!!

Hi everyone,
This has nothing to do with this post..but wanted to post it in a current thread.
For a while now someone has been pretending to be me and posting stuff that I would never say. I guess I hit a chord somewhere with this person as they continue to act in their childish ways. On DD's suggestion I've created a Google ID and I will be using that from now on when I post.

This is the real me

12:00...tight assed church people....the ones who seek same sex encounters in airport bathrooms and cheap hotels and then tell the rest of us we're not allowed to love whom we love and marry freely. Yes, burn in hell they likely will. Jesus doesn't take kindly to those who use his name for hate.

LOL...to anon 6:08...you made my day!

Eric,

I lived in SD for a long time and now SF. They are like different countries for sure. I like SD much better personally, even though there are more religious zealots there.

Get ready Dishy! You are gonna see an increase in traffic soon. Thats a good thing. Maybe it will help Iowa during the economic downturn? It can't hurt. Someone needs to realize the gays have lots of dough! Like Big Women, they hold the cash!

Eliza, noone gives a shit. Your an asshole.

Anonymous said...

Hate to tell you but most gay people won't influx to Iowa just to get married. I fear square states.

Crabbie, where do you live and are you "married" as well? LOL, this shit is such a joke.

yay Iowa, and it's completely messed up that CA frckn overturned theirs. I know it's already been said here but I'm saying it again anyway, bcos I can. This was supposedly the black & Hispanic vote in CA for prop 10 which was responsible. I do not get it. I wish ppl would support other folks' civil liberties but it didn't work out that way.

And I'm proud to live in MA.
And we also have many many gay divorces already. We have lots of folks with professional degrees who live to argue.
