I just realized some of my new net friends had never seen my son. Here's Eric's MySpace. He's got some music on there. I'm just now getting to where I can listen to it again. Ice House Blues makes me laugh, it's a Croce rip off and a personal joke between us. He has some You Tube vids of himself on there too. You can shut off the main music and watch them. Or sort through there to hear how he played. He was self taught, but, that last year he had been accepted to a gifted musicians program at MI, in Califiornia. He wrote a lot of stuff and I loved his music. He had a CD released (and financed) by Columbia and I need to make a place to put that on the net. It's amazingly good. I always teased Eric that he "went down to the crossroads", you know, that old music legend about guys who sold their soul so they could play in an unearthly manner. I don't know how he did it, but, he could play rhythm, bass and lead all at the same time. He didn't even need extra tracks to lay it down. It always blew my mind.Sunday, July 5, 2009

Thank you for sharing. :)
Yep. He had an obsession with death and the grave near the end, that showed up in his writing. Dance With The Dead is one that's on there. He knew. People always wonder if I knew, but, they're too polite to ask. The answer is yes. I knew and he knew and we discussed it 4 days before the end.
I realize it would probably help me if I wrote about that, the knowledge I always had.. that he would go first, but, I am not able to do it yet.
::hugs::
Thanks.
Pat ... when you are ready you know you have friends willing to listen.... hugsssssssssssss
Yeah, well, eventually. There's still a lot of guilt. I did get him to see doctors though. I was insistent. I even went with him. I don't know, man, I can't type any more about this right now.
DD, we feel your pain and heartache. Know that although we're not present in body, we are in spirit and our arms are tightly wrapped around you in a heartfelt hug!
Sorry about your son, Pat. The loss of a child is the worst of all life experiences. My Mother-in Law has lost two sons in senseless accidents. She goes on everyday, but part of her died when they did. You just can't be the same person you were before and no one can expect you to.
What happened to Eric? How did he die?

Wow, just watched the two youTube videos on Eric's MySpace, sounds like he was really talented! How do you feel about watching those vids? I don't know if I would watch them over and over or if I would not want to watch them at all.
What a talent! I'm so sorry, I can't imagine how awful this is. (((((Pat)))))
Wow Pat. He was good. I am enjoying his music. And my heart is tied in a knot for you. :hugs:
Really enjoyed the listen Pat, thank you for posting his site. Eric was very talented and it was nice to see he was able to get a bit of his dreams done.
Your a mom, Pat, so the guilt is understandable and will probably always be there a bit but we can't live on "what if's".
Take your time, type, or write when you feel comfortable - you know you have many friends here who will always be here for you to listen, to read, to comfort and to understand.
Such a tragedy no matter how many days it has been.

DD- I have no idea how you feel, but here's one thing I know for sure regarding Erics MySpace page...That young man left this world surrounded by love. He's really got lots of people that love him & will miss him always. We should all be so lucky to have friends like that & more importantly to have a son like Eric.
Thank you so much for updating us newbies. I've wanted to ask so many times but didn't know if it was a good time or the right place.
Second, I'm off to explore his page and music. It sounds absolutely intriguing!
Official cause of death is listed as pulmonary embolisim. But, the coroner told me he also had a brain seizure. He believed they happened at the same time.
NO, Maureen, I couldn't watch them for a year. Now I can. I'm supposed to be getting more vids of him that his friends have. More of his music. I know he had lots of stuff on disc here, but, they're gone from assholes pilfering in here after he died.
Oo I can see why it would have been hard to see these. I can also see how they would be like a treasure once you could bring yourself to watch again. No platitudes will ever be sufficient. Nor should they be.
I loved the accoustic piece.
((((Pat))))
He's not really gone. He just switched locations. Very talented...
There has been three times since he died that I thought he was here. I'm glad he doesn't feel the need to hang out here, I'd like to think he has better things to do now.
There's an old post on here somewhere about how he was living in Janis Joplins hotel room shortly before he died. He was trying to get in touch with her, but, wouldn't admit it. It scared me.
