We got fast food and ate supper in the play park. I told her she could pick the restaurant..I don't even have to tell you what she choose. Ick. She blew bubbles at the drive thru and asked all kinds of questions. She says she's getting a baby brother. I asked her if her mom told her that and she said no, I just know. So, I said, maybe it's a sister (but, I think it's a boy too.) She said, no, it's a brother and he has brown hair. Ooookay. She played some and then asked to borrow my camera. I told her, man, you'd better not break it or you'll owe me lots of money. She told me that's okay, she has lots of money. (She had 6 dollars in her pocket.) So, I gave it to her and she went clear across the park to take my picture. Geez. I cropped out half the town there. I think she just wanted to see how far away she could get without me hollering at her. So, there I am smoking a cig..what? Did you think I'd be wearing a pointed hat? After that we went shopping and she bought a jewelry making kit. We're going to make fancy jewelry after her movie is over. I'll post it.

And YES she is wearing a seat belt in the car.
Omg if she really ends up getting a baby brother that'll be amazing!
Goodness!!! She's adorable! I think I said that in several comments but everytime I see a picture I have to mention it again! :)
Glad you two had fun today!
How wonderful -
Some of my most fav memories are those I spent with my "Mums".
She is such a cute kid. Lurve her.
I'm gonna go finish my bottle of wine now...LOL!
i got up late cuz i got home late---went to another town to watch fireworks...35 minutes worth!!

today i have played bookworm adventures all day!!!
"pointy hat" roflmao!!!!
I love the things you do with Lissa. I really loved the idea about giving a kid a bottle of sprinkles to do with what she wants. They're gonna get candy anyway, why not candy with a purpose?
I worked all day, tomorrow is my Friday so I'm planning some garden work. My son is away for two weeks visiting my sister and family so I'm kind of adrift.
Loved the pics of Lissa... and you are looking good in PINK... wooohoooo didn't think that was one of your colors... :)
I went to see "Gran Torino" with Clint Eastwood.... not really sure I like it but can't say I didn't like it either. Personally I think this was his "Swan Song" as an actor... just got that feeling when I saw him sitting in the bath tub...
Awwww.
Your such a nice grandma.
My in-laws were here, they live far away, so when they come, they stay with us.
There are always judgements when they come. They weren't her 2 minutes before the subject was my son needing a hair cut. I'm so sick of their crap. They think they are flawless, and need to dispense their wisdom. For fucks sake we are 35.
I noticed after they left that my FIL stuck an article about 'procrastinating' on my fridge.
Pisses me off. They think anyone who reads is just sitting around procrastinating. Fuck them. We don't even invite them. They tell us, "we'll be there around dinner time." That's a cue for, 'have the table set'. God!!!!!
Oh, and they ALWAYS want to talk about our utility bills and personal shit like that.
oo that's the one thing i seem to have a 'knack' for - guessing boy or girl. The second I found out my aunt was preganant i KNEW it was a girl. So far the ultrasounds say it is and she's due in September. I also guessed a boy for my friend who just found out a few months ago. i was right one that too. :)
Today I did absolutely NOTHING, lol! I'm still recouperating from July 3rd. Me and my brother walked alllll over town and watched the fire works. My fat ass isn't used to walking that much, LOL! But i got some gorgeous pictures... i posted them on my blog. :)
You are a wonderful G'ma! I like your GR'Daughter's name to. Just a little different than my own, LOL! It is days like that, that she will remember above all else.
Looks like a fun day. What a cutie she is, and tuned in to her intuition too.
I went to my bellydance practice like every Sunday morning. I got home and the hubby was putting a new tire on his swing bike. After vegetating all afternoon, we bbq'd salmon wrapped in foil with amber beer and onions, and corn on the cob. And I made Miss Tia's ice cream pie for dessert! And back to vegetating....watching Iron Chef now and getting ready for bed....
She's adorable and you look chill and very content just hanging with her!
How cool she knows it's a brown haired brother. It does sound as if she has a gift for, "seeing"
MissTia!! I made the lemonade pie too and it was a huge hit. Thanks!!
shmedelle, your inlaws sound like a bunch of pushy sanctimonius jerk wads. How you stand it is beyond me. Pffft, they can't have much to do if they pick pick pick about things like haircuts and "procrastination". Fuck! If I have a week here where no one's fighting, the law isn't called, no one is in the nut house or jail, I think everything's peachy.
Tia, thanks, that's cool! My fireworks pics came out shitty.
Frimmy enjoy your break, I know you'll miss him though. But, a break from mommyhood is awesome.
F' everybody..I wish I could learn to drink.
Nadine, I liked that movie, but, it was typical Clint. He's always the hero. He should play a drunk aimless bum once.
Naseem..did your little one see the fireworks?
Thanks, LisaK..her name is Alissa, but we all call her Lissa. My son picked the name. I think it's snooty, but, I like the name Lissa.
So, I guess everone's made the lemonade pie but me. Dang. I have to get on that.
Corina, if you consistently get the gender of babies, I doubt it's guessing. I think you are picking up the energy of the baby and we can usually tell male energy from female energy. I always get an extra energy around pregnant women. I get it with my DIL this week, so I know she really is preg.
Hi ya coffee. :)
Meissa..you belly dance, how cool. Do you have vids? Have you tried pole dancing? I'd try that if I was younger, it looks like so much fun.
Sweet Jesus thank you! I'm not the only one who can pick babies a mile away. I'm shocked when their own mothers don't get a "vibe" about the sex they're carrying when it seems so obvious to me and I've never even had a babe!
10:12:00 AM, totally. Some people can just feel it.
You had a fun day!
The wanderlust 20 yr old came home yesterday.
We went to the airport yesterday to get her. The highway coming and going was actually not that bad. Very surprised.
You were right Pat. She jumped right in the shower and hit the computer. She is a celeb junkie and for her MOM to know more then she does is not good. She did not even know about Palin. She had catching up to do.
That was real commune living Pat. No microwave, no toaster, no coffee pot. Everything (even the toast) was cooked on a wood stove. She had to use the outhouse the whole week!
The tv they had to watch movies was in black and white.
They are saving up for solar panels.
She was in vegan heaven. All the food was from the ground and they make their own tofu.
She bought a new pair of shoes for the trip. She never wore them. Everyone was barefoot.
She had a good time but she is glad she is home. She asked if Dad could help her put the AC in her bedroom soon. ROFL That trip wore off real quick!
I love this post. Wonderful.
Once when I was pregnant with my son I went to the mall with my besty who was also pregers. We ran into this woman we both knew from church. She looked deep into our eyes and told my friend she was going to have a boy & I would be having a boy! She was some kind of reflexology/ herbologist BS. Anyways, she missed on both counts. We both had already guessed what we were having and knew she was wrong. And it was proven a few omths later when our guesses were confirmed. A mother just knows.
Hi Pat!
Glad you enjoyed your time with 'Lissa. She's gonna be so much better off in life with you as her Grandma!
I, too, have special abilities. It seems whatever line I enter, it will be the slowest! Also, I have an uncanny knack for picking the slowest horse in any race. I'm tellin' ya, it's a GIFT! HA!
Happy 6th of July!
Yes, Pat, I have clips of me dancing solo and with my troupe, I'll e-mail you links today. I haven't tried pole dancing, it seems to be more athletic, which I'm not. Bellydancing is more organic, and for women of every shape, size and age.
