Hump Maters

I am so done with these things. It's the time of year when bugs reproduce, so everywhere you look there's blister beetles or stink bugs or disgusting grasshoppers joined at the ass end. Is there bug cum on the tomatos?? I just picture that and nasty bug feet walking all over them and it makes me sick and I can't eat them. I still occasionally use the ones on top, I used one for a pizza yesterday, but, I peeled it first. My Mom will find one with a grasshopper bite out of it and say, I can cut that off. Then she smiles like she's foiled the bug. And I get sick and point out that there's a hundred perfect ones right in front of her, but, she won't listen. It's so gross, I won't eat anything with a spot on it. I still might try soup again, you have to peel them for that. I know it's stupid, but, I can not stand bugs. I'm pretty much done with them until next year. Blaa. I'll be happy when we get a hard freeze that kills the bastards... (the bugs and the tomatos.)

Pat I know what you mean. Hate
bugs and I'm done with the Summer also. Having lived in Florida for several years, I love having four seasons to enjoy. Missed that when I was there.

Me, three. HATE bugs! Flying, crawling, slithering, Yuck.

One of the garden spiders you showed a while back decided to park itself at my back door. I won't tell you what my first inclination was, BUT I remembered that you used endearing terms describing the so I spared it's life. It has to build a new web, but it got off lucky, Pat.

There are 8 green tomatos in my poor hubs, sad little, excuse for a garden. Even the bugs can't be bothered to use it as a motel...I'm frying them tomorrow...

Hi, I have been following your blog for a while now and loving it but this is absolutely one of the silliest things I've heard in a very long time.

Dear Lord if I ever told my mother that I couldn't eat something because a bug had been on it I would have died of starvation before I could walk. Is this why the majority of children from developed nations have very little immunity?

I understand phobias but this is a little extreme.

My 1--repeat--ONE tomato plant that lived finished about 3 weeks ago and I want a homegrown tomato so bad i would take all of your bug maters. I planted about six plants, but the bugs got them all except for the hybrid LSU developed for this area. It was a great plant. LSU has 2 really good things--an Ag dept. and a great football team. But I'm don't so sure about the team this year--haven't heard to much of what to look forward to. We're waiting for the first game this season(in Wash. St.) and are tail gaiting outside. By the time the game starts I will problem be the only one sober enough to watch it.

ANON 9:12-Obviously you don't understand phobias because phobias go beyond the realm of being able to understand them. I, too, have a bug phobia that is beyond rational. I won't even get into the lengths I've taken to avoid bugs.

I just captured a fly under one of my soda bottle plastic lids (my coke rewards).

Should be dead by morning. I actaually let him out and he was weak enough that I was able to get him again. Then I told Mini-Snark and she said she was doing the same thing to him when she was on the computer.

He liked it.
Night night fly.

9:12:00 PM, for once my mother has nothing to do with it. I just hate bugs.

Snark, flies are evil.

bugs, ugh! I have a ginormous orange garden spider on my patio. My friend was over to play Wii and we went out to cool off on the patio and it scared the crap out of us. I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like bugs. I leave the spiders alone if they are outside though.

Hate bugs too. We pulled everything but the peppers from the garden. The bugs were eating everything. I'm so done with it for this year.

But, spiders aren't bugs. They eat bugs. They are my friends. Anything that kills bug is my friend.

The best tomatos I grew were Lemon Boy, Early Girl (not early) and Sweet 100.

Every once in a while I will find a centepide in my bathtub. That creeps me out.

Dirty Disher said...

Centipides don't scare me either. They move weird though.

But, if I see one in the bathroom I have to throw my tooth brush away, which is really dumb because I've never seen one on my tooth brush.
