There's a handful of celebs hawking this Lattice product for growing eye lashes, have you seen those ads? Yeah, it's FDA approved and we all trust them, right? Side effects include hair growing in places you don't want it, itchiness, eyelid skin darkening which may be reversible, and there is potential for increased brown iris pigmentation which is likely to be permanent. This shit can actually change the pigmentation in your eyes?? Your eyes, the only ones you have. That you use to see with. Maybe I should put that another way. IT'S YOUR FUCKING EYES!

Big Pharma is awesome! Any one who uses this shit deserves what they get!
I have glaucoma and the drops I have to use for the pressure supposedly cause darkening of the iris. I haven't noticed any color changes yet but do feel sad about that. All my life the only feature I was pleased with was my hazel eyes. Sure would hate to lose that. But... would rather have that happen than to lose my sight. So obviously I'll keep using the drops.
I heard that. I was like WHAT my eyes could change color from grey to brown.. and im not full of shit.. hahha badjoke.. But ya... Maybe my eye lashes are breaking off and not as long as they use to be but still I dont want brown eyes, unibrow freak eyeslashes etc.. I just stay the same...
Is this the stuff I have seen Brooke Shields promoting?
Mascara has done just fine for my lashes this far. I don't even deal with too much of that.
Poison injections to smooth out lines. Blindness for longer lashes. WTF... Vanity is becoming increasingly dangerouse for ones health.
I got scared of the "permanent" eye color changes too. Is it really that important to have long eyelashes? really? Its not like Brooke Sheilds has no eyelashes at all. She has always had pretty eyelashes. But now someone with zero eyelashes, they might have a reason to risk it. I dunno. Then there really is nothing for it to grab onto & into your eyeball it would all go! What if you begin to grow hair on your entire eyelid? or just around your eyes, like a doggy? How funny is that? I'm sorry, but it is. This is a ridiculous product & is no doubt very expensive. My daughters salon sells a serum for this purpose thats safe & works.

I just experienced a pretty serious eye accident a little over a week ago. It has really made me realize how much I took my site for granted. My sight is getting better day by day and I am so very thankful.
I wouldn't put this shit near my eyes if you paid me but I'm sure millions of women will all in the name of beauty.
I haven't worn a lick of make-up since the accident and my husband says I look young and beautiful. That's good enough for me
Also, I swear my eyelashes have grown since I haven't been glopping them up with mascara.
I am with you Pat and Nina! I saw the Brooke Shields commercials and heard all the warnings at the end, and i was like, "Say What?" you have to be kidding me that Brooke Shields or any woman would really prefer long lashes over all the harmful side affects? Now there are somethings i am considering doing that are dangerous but in the long run, the side affects would outweight how i look and feel about myself or would they, now that i really think about it as i write it down? i am talking about getting a boob job; I've had tiny, perky, barely B size boobs all my life well up until almost 8 year ago when i nursed my first child for 11 months and then my second for 8! Now my boobs are all saggy, the nipples are inverted, the look like belly buttons intead of nipples and the last time i went to get a bathing suite i cried! I am in pretty good shape for a 40 year old woman and i thank God for my genes every day, high metabolism, healthy, and so forth, I have never wanted boobs but these pitful things i have now make me feel deformed, so if a pair of silicone full B cup boobs make me not feel like crying everytime i take my bra off, then the hell with the side affects!!
Sorry, i digressed!
ali
but eyelashes are pretty. . . . and botox is poison.
Ali = = your post cracked me up! Thank you for sharing your booby saga. LOVED it.
Why not just use fake eyelashses?
Naseem, I agree. I love falsies. What about eyelash extensions? One of my friends is making a fortune putting those on women. I don't understand it. It takes me less than 3 minutes to glue on some fake ones.
i still can't believe people are promoting this without stopping and saying "WTF?!"... i don't want long eyelashes that bad!
And COMPLETELY off topic, but Pat - I wanted to update you about those fawns. I never did see them again, but mom saw them again the other day and it looks like they were "adopted" by another doe. I'm so happy for them! :)
I used fake eyelashes twice and it was better than putting medication on my lashes to make them fuller. Otherwise, I use mascara's for a fuller effect. I don't know why they come up with these medications.

...............
Money honey, and lots of it.
Corina, thank you for telling me!!!!
Ali, get the boob job. If I could, I would.
And that's not all cosmetic..boobs cause all kinds of problems.
I think that stuff should only be used for what it was intended for. If you have short or thin lashes..live with it or get some fake ones.
Geez!
Scary shit is right Pat. I have hazel eyes too Matilda and I would hate to lose the color also.
