Two people were executed in China today for their role in a tainted milk scandal that killed at least six children. Nearly 300,000 children fell ill last year after drinking milk intentionally laced with melamine, a toxic industrial compound.The official Xinhua news agency, citing a court statement, said Zhang Yujun was executed 'for the crime of endangering safety by dangerous means', while Geng Jinping was convicted of producing and selling toxic food and they were put to death. Tian Wenhua (the female) was sentanced to life in prison.*

There's nothing like a good old-fashioned show execution. We should start doing them here. Glenn Beck needs to be the first one on the gallows. And if we're worried about being humane, just use the guillotine. Nice clean cut, no pain, it's over.

As a Catholic, I am supposed to be against the death sentence, but I'm not. Why didn't they get rid of the woman, too? I can see no reason for keeping anyone around who would do this. That goes for the pet food poisonings, too.

Swift jusdgement & excution. No appeals, no decades waiting for an appeals hearing being fed & housed by the taxpayers. I like it. Thats how it used to be. Crime was a big deal back when it meant punishment, now it's not feared. You get 3 hots and cot if you get caught! I like the Chinese decision for doing this w/o delays. Wow! And I thot Timothy McVay got a swift execution. And only because he insisted. USA needs to relearn judgement.

we used to own melamine/ melmac dishes when I was a kid. Is that the same stuff? I know you can't microwave it. It cracks & bubbles up & breaks. I loved those dishes tho. All the retro colors & so 50's. Loved it. This is just weird that it is also a poison, yet we ate off it.

We all had the dishes I think (yuk) and they're safe as far as I know. But, when you add melamine to milk there's a chem reaction that's toxic..and they knew it. They all deserve to die.
Pat, you think little people are creepy-looking and I think all Mongoloid Asians (Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, etc.) are creepy-looking. Can it be coincidence they so strongly resemble people with Down's Syndrome?
It seems their higher intellect is stunted or undeveloped. It takes them hours of intense study to learn what Causcasians learn in minutes. They put the time in, keep their mouths shut and perform well on tests, but the effort to performance ratio is very high.
They are robotic. They cannot explain things they purport to know. Their creative intellect (higher thought) is non-existent ... they just copy someone else, imitate, mimic and can never explain anything, so it's clear they don't understand. A lie is as good as the truth for them unless someone lies to THEM.They squirm out of responsiblity with silence and blank, brain-dead expressions. They're dirty and unsanitary, will pick their noses right in front of you while getting your espresso. They own all the businesses and do work hard to make money. Other than money and saving face, I can't see what's important to them.
Their reputation for being very intelligent is a joke to those of us who work and deal with them on a daily basis. A few months ago I saw some reality show where two groups of people had to choose leaders, then the leaders had to assign tasks to each of their members, relying on very little info to make their decisions. One of the categories was 'the most intelligent' because the task was to untie a complicated knot or something. (Wasn't paying much attention) The leader immediately chose the Chinese girl saying she was the most intelligent because she was Chinese (smart American!) She must have been shitting her pants because they know damn well they're dumb as dirt, comparatively.
Well, she lost.
Anyway, I wish they'd go back to China and I wish we'd grow and produce our own food and keep our money at home. We don't need to buy everything, we're suckers and suffer for it. But what do we expect when we leave the quality of our lives to such a trashy culture?
Sorry, this is harsh, but it's all true and I have decades of experience and dozens of friends to back it up.

Anon, that is so true! I have seen that first hand in chinese businesses. The blank expression, and, they suddenly 'forget' how to speak the language of the country they live, when five minutes before they were fluent. Seen it before.

6:32:00 PM, I don't have that much experience with them, but, I like to think I look on every individual for what they are and not lump them. I don't like China's governement or the way the Chinese treat women, girls and animals. I have no desire to see China, I think it sounds like hell. I don't think they're unattractive people, I just don't care for some of their customs and beliefs tough.
I did some research on China, and you do not want to live there. In addition to the way they treat women, animals, etc., they dump all over the environment. Literally. It's not unusual to have streams, rivers, etc. that are yellow, or green or red, or purple from the straight chemical mess they dump in them. People are dying of leukemia, etc. in these areas, have no or very limited access to fresh water, and the government does not care. Those who complain, die or disappear. For me, the greatest reason to revile China is their complete lack of conscience. They just don't care.
I've read that in the building of the great wall, when one worker died, they just pushed him aside, and another worker was ready to go with more waiting. Life just doesn't mean much to them.
