Queen Elizabeth has dusted off her wedding day tiara for a state visit to Trinidad and Tobago. She also had the islands birds, in sequins, on the bottom of her gown, but, they were removable, so she could wear it again in a different way. There's always stories about the Queen using old things again, she likes to be served her own meals on the mismatched china. Wasn't she beautiful when she was young? So pretty. I can't help it, I just like her and think she's a cute old broad. No nonsense and little fuss, is how she comes off. I wish we had a Queen.

she is frugal...she turns off excess lights, believes you should wear sweaters instead of turning up the heat, will rewear dresses, etc...
her grandmother, queen mary, was like that too, would save string from parcels, etc...
i like queen elizabeth too!
All these old inbred freaks should be locked in the tower and forced to drink their own urine.
She is a very remarkable queen. She even worked on ww2 machinery. Very hard working since she was little. Ah the life of a monarchy....
The movie the queen was very good also so was the pbs documentary of the whole family.
I like her, was surprised to see you post about her, but glad you did.
I don't care if they're redundant, I'd rather read about them (yes the whole royal family) than ditzy celebs who know how to.....(drum roll....)....SHOP!
DD I like her too but I loved her mom.
She is exactly that no nonsense and just
cuz she is getting up there in years she still
does her job never mind handing the title
over to her son Charles who is 60+ btw and
chomping at the bit to be king ?! Bleh :-/
Avas mommy ita Helen mirren was great in that
movie the queen and the documentary at the
palace is just mindboggling how they live ?!
I don't blame her she is in charge and it's must
cost a fucking fortune to heat that palace up !!
To think she went thru ww2 with hitler they bombed
the palace during the blitz of the city of london.
She is a strong woman. We have her on all
our money and coins up here in Canada.
I like your new pix btw you look like a model !
Kiki
:)
I like the queen, and I liked her mom, too. Loved the outfits she would wear...bright lemon yellow and robin's egg blue.
I always thought my mom was on our money...I didn't know it was the queen until I was 9, hee hee.
She is an amazing person, so hard working. She has a wonderful wit that is rarely seen in public. She loves horses and her dogs and cherishes her time away from London on the weekends. She loves her family even if they have disapointed her. She knows she can't even dream of retirement because of the lack of support for Charles. She just keeps on keeping on.
Sometimes the Queen or other royals come to visit Canada because we're in the commonwealth. The Queen always looks totally pissed whenever she comes here. I think her visits are a waste of money but some people here go crazy and practically pee themselves with excitement when she visits. Charles and Camilla were just here but people did not seem as excited about that...no surprise.

She's frugal with HER money. When her house burned down a few years back, she wanted the taxpayers to fund the restoration. Let me be clear: THE RICHEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD (or near richest, if Oprah overtook her by now) wanted already heavily taxed citizens to pay for her burned down house.
I lived there for seven years. I have no illusions re the royal family.
Arguments about the monarchy aside, I like her too. She's a royal protocol 'nazi', like she was raised to be, but when she's off duty she's unpretentious has a great sense of humour.
if the royal family took back the profits from their lands that they signed over to the government in return for the civil list, they'd be getting over $240 million a year....the civil is a fraction of that...
i think windsor castle should have been paid for 50/50 by the government and the queen....the most messed up thing about that was that there was no insurance! i think that's been rectified....
Uh. . . we do have a queen. His name is Tommy-girl.
