Artist, Jens Werner painted his house to look like a Burberry plaid because he thought it would be fun. Artists are so wacky! It is fun, it looks cozy. Too bad I can't paint a straight line or I'd try it.

Trust me, this was not free hand. Stencils and lots of blue tape. LOL
I would like to hear how the idea came about. Do you see someone walking down street the in Bur berry and think "Yeah my house needs painted why not" or do you put a piece on and go "I think I would like to match my house"? or are you in the paint store and see blue tape on sale? or "I would like my house to look like fabric. which one?" Just curious cause I sure would never think of it!
First thing I thought was, "Hope he doesn't get sued." Maybe I am cynical, but I wonder if/when a lawsuit comes for using a copyrighted plaid. Hope I am wrong.
I love it! I'm so glad to see things like this instead of the architectural/design crap from Home Depot. I'd never do it, it's not me, but it looks great on him.
I love, love that!! How cool is that?! & that house aint' even level! Look at the foundation under him in the window. LOL..How did he do that? this IS cool,it looks good. Had to have taken many months to do. Lots & lots of little lines. The colors & lines are correct too. Wow!! Great post. rox
Elizabeth...I thot of that as well. Like, there he sits smiling. Till the bill comes! Right? It's free publicity for them tho. Maybe they won't sue. I bet they do. rox
Not as crazy as the Basket building of Longaberger! Ever seen that building? It's an enormous giant perfectly scale basket!! I love it, but I hate Lonagberger. I think they are pretentious and ridiculous. The shop keepers in the town where that is call the women that come ther to shop "Jumpers" because they all wear denim jumpers! hahaha...I have friends that have collected them forever. It's just a racket. But the building is amazing.

I never thought it was free hand, but, you haven't seen me with tape or rulers. I can't do it.
I couldn't do it either. I'm sitting here thinking about all the math that went into that project just to get the scale correct. Mind boggeling!!!
escrow
Love it! Burberry weekend is my favorite perfume! I too cannot imagine the amount of precision and math that went into getting this right

Can someone paint my house to look bigger please? And preferably in another state? Thanks.
Noelle, he's from England and I think this Burberry tartan is very big there. He's into fashion.
Biz, ha. You don't love Joisy?
i'll stick with polka dots!

Intresting. But when Burberry goes out of style. Will he change the outlook of his pad? I couldn't do this I change my mind to many times.

stencils, tape & rulers & levels. Plus it's a mish mosh of lines, dashes & colors. He did good. It was NOT easy, escrow. Even with stencils etc.

Ava, that plaid has been synonymous with Burberry for eons. It's not going anyplace, esp not in England. It's class & expensive. Good show ol' chap!
glad it's not "lv" print
or maybe he just wrapped his house in a giant sheet of printed Contact paper? LOL...

Looks like he did a great job, but I'm glad it's not in my neighborhood.
I've never been able to figure out the attraction of this plaid.

I'm not a fan of Burberry particularly, but I can apperciate that that artwork is awesome. Amazing job.
Yep, Burberry's been around since the 1850's. As classic as champers and pearls.
'Not going anywhere', indeed.
