China's "special needs" parking lot

A Chinese shopping centre has gone all out for it's "special needs" customers, with special wide parking bays, pink and purple decor and lighting and an assistant to guide the cars in. The "special needs" of this particular group? Why, they're women, of course.

LMAO! I thought Chinese men were supposed to be very clever? Looks like the women outsmarted them again.

I've only been reading, not commenting. This Crackberry is more addicting than Gosselin Gossip!!

Anyhow, a few days back Sprite told us about her new friend and possible future romance. YOU GO GIRL! I'm having the same thing only it's after 30 years! Your post was so beautifully written and I had to call my man after I read it.

hope you see this.

wow. So there is an actual reward for those who weren't left on a mountainside to die or adopted out to someone (like my friend's sister) in another country. I guess all of that is a complex screening process for rewards like this. woo. hoo. go china. (sarcasm)

Dirty Disher said...

Uhh hu. I think Chinese women have learned how to work it. They've had to.

escrowmama said...

Oh, this is....so wrong... offensive. I have no "special needs" just because I'm a woman.

FUCK CHINA!

Dirty Disher said...

Isn't it just insulting..lol. I still think the women have pulled a fast one, which makes me giggle.

I've got "special needs" but they all pertain to shoes. I'd LOVE specially assisted parking, fuck those brain-deprived men.

Dirty Disher said...

LOL at shoes. Funny.

escrow mama;
I'm confused. I thought you were offended at the Fuck China thing. I was all set not to say it anymore, not wanting to offend you.
Was that a troll that left that comment?

Escrow, please don't stop commenting. I wasn't challenging you or being sarcastic. It was an honest question. I sincerely didn't want to offend you.

I lived in a city with a huge amount of international students enrolled at various universities there. I have lovely Chinese friends but I can tell you that the worst drivers I ever came across were Chinese men and women. They were not rude drivers, far from it, just not experienced in taking in their surroundings while driving. How many people in China can afford to drive?

Seeing a 'special needs' parking lot designated for woman drivers is a bit of the pot calling the kettle black if they're implying woman are bad at driving/parking. I sort of see this as 'special' in the sense that they have had the luxurious spots designated for woman. Which is kind of a nice, change relatively speaking.

(One of my friends, from North-east China told me of a friend of hers who had an ultra sound at 7 months of pregnancy to determine the sex of child. She was told it was a girl so they aborted it. The lab results were incorrect and she and her husband found out it was a boy they aborted. Xiahuang told me that her friend never recovered emotionally from that. Can you imagine?! In China and India there are a staggering amount of females missing from the population because of attitudes like that.)

Dirty Disher said...

I'm sorry to sound insensitive, but, I think of you'd abort a child at seven months (OMG!) just because of it's gender, well, maybe you don't need a child. But, I don't live in China, so maybe I don't understand being raised that way.

Dirty Disher said...

And I still hate China's politics, but, I feel for it's women.

Dirty Disher said...

And you're right, it's not just China with that attitude. Look at history of British and French royals. No son..off with your head. Geez.

One of the things I miss most about being in the south was that I often came across "prime" parking spots marked for LADIES ONLY, never seen that anywhere else.

Cut On The Diagonal said...

Biz;
Where in the south?? I've lived here all of my life and I've never seen one of those. That's pretty neat.

Dirty Disher said...

It's pretty cool. They used to have one here for pregnant women, but, they took it down. It made me mad. Preg women ARE temporarily handicapped sometimes.

frimmy---we have quite a few chinese students at kent state and when they get their driver's licenses they are indeed the worst drivers!! they go EXACTLY the speed limit and if they inch up to say 36 in a 35 they will slam on their brakes! they usually go under the speed limit by about 10mph....

they make timmy the timid turtle seem like a reckless drag racer....

Dirty Disher said...

Yeah, but, sigh, you have to admit, they look good while doing that. Heh.

I feel for the young couple that aborted their seven month gestation son. A child of that gestation is older than Michelle Duggar's, and can live if provided with support. That is not an "it". It is a baby, and aborting that child, in my eyes, is murder. I feel so sorry for that couple.

I wish they had special woman curbs. I can hardly ever make a right turn without curb jumping. As far as special parking spots, I have parked in the spots designated for car fulls on a cold or rainy day or at night. I think a single woman alone at night should be allowed to park closer than a car full of people. People love to rob women outside of malls around here when it's dark out.
