Eva Gabor..genius

I caught up on the shows I watch on Hulu last night and then I saw that they have a bunch of Green Acres. I remember when I was a kid, I loved that show. So I watched some old episodes. The pure slapstick still holds up, though now I find Oliver against the world a little frustrating. The "Hootersville" town folk remind me too much of my relatives. But, what I didn't remember is that the show must have been one of the first to break the fourth wall, with Lisa speaking Hungarian and then looking down and correcting the subtitles. She also finds the opening credits a different way in each episode, like the producers names on her chicken's eggs. They did a lot of creative things I didn't remember because I was too young to know it was ground breaking then. But, the most interesting thing I noticed was that in the beginning Lisa Douglas was not an air head. She was a city girl, but, fairly normal and intelligent. Later she developed that blank stare and hilarious screwing of the English language. Taking everything literally and being completely goof ball-ish, Eva Gabor was hilarious. I wonder who dumbed down Lisa? Was it Gabor herself as the show progressed? Cooking "hots cakes" in her gorgeous vintage (now) designer gowns, the woman still cracks me up.

"Ah-Lee-Vah"!!! Loved that! She was darling. A home builder here in central Indiana built an entire community & named the streets after Green Acres characters. Haney Drive, Oliver Ave,...I can't remember all of them but they all pertained to the show. Too funny!
The one thing that was so funny to me was the clearly lez handy-man on there! She was such a crack up. Who was that guy that insisted on calling Oliver "Dad"? Sooo funny! Yea, the phone pole was hilarious. Thats how the Amish actually do it, ya know? If they have a modern convenience like a phone, they have to make it "unconvenient" for themselves, like up a pole or down the street a block away. It's true. Maybe they got the idea from Green Acres? Or visa-versa? LOL

All she ever wore was those long flowy house pinours(sp). She was fabulous. I always thought Oliver Douglas was a handsome fellow! Mrs Ziffel was Barbara Pepper wasn't she? She was one of Lucille Balls BFF's! She was on many, many episodes of I Love Lucy!

Green Acres is not the place to be, unless you enjoy sheep sex.

I need some help! This week we had the LEAP test every morning. In teh afternoon, we are supposed to do something constructive but not draining---like any of those kids ever put out any evert THINKING! Anyway, I'm trying to find the series of shows that told about what the world would be like without man. The cities are over grown with vines, trees and weeds and buildings are crumbling. It shows different animals and what happens to them. Pets turn feral and zoo animals roam streets, etc.
DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF THIS SHOW? I'm trying to find it on Hulu and I can't. HELP!!!!
